  1. What beef do you have with Godzilla? Afraid to lose white supremacy to a reptile?
  2. I've been voting, and I think ONE of my friends payed enough attention to do it to. Hope it ends up being enough to keep you in the top 5!
  3. Shit... I'd just like to see him at work on one (maybe one of the smaller ones...). That video can't do enough justice to what kind of effort he must put into those.
  4. Those are absolutely amazing! I'd love to see what else he could do in that "3-D" form. I wish I had some insane talent like that.
  5. I thought the lathe cuts were for the whole LP. Or are you supposed to get both? I didn't get a chance to make an order in time. I'm just curious.
  6. Thanks for the welcome!! why do you say that? Are people normally just assholes? I mean, we all have something in common and that is collecting records, Idk why people would be assholes about that? haha You have indeed experienced a pleasant welcome thumb-friend. But foes are always lurking...
  7. She wont stay around forever, she will leave you eventually, but my friendship, that you can count on til the end of time! <--- Make that face darker and you've pretty much captured my expression after reading this! Hahahahaha! Bros before hoes dawg!
  8. Seriously? That's awesome. I was thinking I would either just get one copy of the random color to have one copy of that particular pressing, or if there were a significant amount of variances between them, maybe two just to be OCD like that. Thanks for the heads up.
  9. My face would have made this album that much better, but $60 is already rather hefty for me. The album will have to do without my stunning self blessing it's artwork.
  10. This is why I've given up on even trying to regulate myself. It's fucking impossible when you give in to your curiosities.
  11. Indeed indeed indeed. I see what you're saying. I mean, they were separate instances though. I can't imagine that the record-melter valued that record though... I mean look at it. It's filled with beads. Looks to me like someone trying to be artsy-fartsy even though everyone and their grandma probably knows how to do this kind of thing (hopefully).
  12. This is a problem I know is coming up. With every cleansing comes a wave a new stuff, and with every wave comes a few that I just refuse to let go of. I can't keep perpetuating the cycle like that with the limited space allotted for my records. I need to get some serious shelving. But if you know you've got stuff to pass on, I say do it. Might as well enjoy that cycle for while you can right?
  13. So... besides allowing silly spambots the use of this thread that no one is likely to frequent to fill with their Uggs crap, is there any particular reason why I am constantly deceived by this contest as if it were still happening?
  14. I assume being a family person, raising kids and all, you're better off than I am, but DANG... that makes me feel a little better about my expenditure. Do you ever turn your stuff around to offset your spending? I know I have to do that more than I'd like to, both for financial reasons, and because I don't have the spacial capacity yet to keep expanding. But if it helps my irresponsible ass, I'm sure a regular cleansing of your collection will help out for you as well. Or you could do the whole, buy a collection, keep what you want, move the rest, thing. Unless you're against that sort of thing. Or you could become a drug kingpin! OR A HITMAN! Or you could get your wife to pay you to babysit! You've already got the kids! It's like you're halfway there! Albeit your allowance idea is probably the best yet.
  15. Nope. Until then, there's plenty of time for me to carry on with my reckless streak. And even if I were: i am! exactly that infact, and i'm horrible with money. my wife is the responsible one, who works her ass off and supports all of us. i'm the fuck up who rarely has a job, and when i do i blow most of the money on records and video games. she understands though, and i make up for it by being a pretty great dad/husband in return. i'm just one of those lucky guys who is loved for who he is i guess. I could only aspire to be like you. Save for being considered a fuck up. Except that's probably what I'll end up being anyways. So maybe including being a fuck up. Hooray! But you have a good taste in music. That's not fucked up. Fuck yeah. Fuckfuckfuck.
  16. Who is this directed toward? I don't see anything in the thread that says anything contrary to what you're asking about. Either way, I don't doubt that it would increase the value, but in terms of playback, I don't know that a serious collector (in the sense of someone who is buying to listen and not to posses a range of variants) would bite there. That is, of course, unless that person actually knows how signed wax sounds and if it sounds no different at all to an unaltered press, and therefore doesn't/wouldn't/shouldn't care (save for maybe financially). Anyways, getting something signed to increase its value seems a little rude to me (I mean no offense to you or anything; just my honest opinion here). Profit for the owner and not the band(s)/label(s)? Meh... I specifically get things signed out to ME when I get them signed so I feel less drawn to the allure of those profit margins, and so people feel somewhat disenchanted about getting said item from me. For me, that's the value in the signature. Something I have that I you don't and won't have and that I don't want you to have. Ever. Besides that, anyone can go to a show, get a signature, then turn it around on eBay, but the personalized one will be the only one made out to me. Or maybe I just like feeling special and everything I'm saying means a load of shit to anyone else. Who knows?
  17. I certainly have no control and constantly find myself buying fast food and making it last me days on end to compensate for my reckless regard toward money. Whatever. Fuck being responsible. That sounds boring and unsatisfying.
  18. Yeah. I know variant collecting is something of a risk since it's not like records are SPECIFICALLY pressed for us (well... I certainly hope not at least.). I know to some people variant collecting might seem douchey and ball-hoggy, and not to sound all entitled, the decision to go random with Knife Man/Can't Maintain was a little aggravating to me, but hey... c'est la vie. As for the black pressing, if there is one sitting in my apartment, then I certainly hope it's out of 10-ish. I definitely don't remember paying for any /10 variant in my collection that isn't a test straight from Mike. And as for the "gold" pressing, I assume you mean a sort of clear-orange right? I've never understood that color-tag when there are actually records that are gold in color. If you ARE referring to a clear-orange version, I have one of those. I believe they're out of 300, but who knows these days. I recall Mike saying he'd update the pressing info sometime soon last time I bugged him about it though, so hopefully that will clear any ambiguity about this stuff.
  19. I'm certainly in no position (financially) to try and strike any purchasing deals, but if you decide to take the plunge and break the variant collection, let me know. There are some serious wants lingering in your collection that I'd jump on faster than a bird being sucked through a 747's engines.
  20. Compounding my present sleepiness with my already terrible memory AND my messed up tradelist, I can't really say for sure, but I believe I have the black variant. Isn't it supposed to be "rare" or something. I can't find a damned number for it and I've bugged Mike at AMR about updating the pressing info enough as it is to do so anymore. I feel like an entitled douchebag when I do, but I can't resist knowing.
