  1. The original pressing of We Live is not Gatefold either.
  2. Other than the free two-day shipping (which doesn't seem to happen any way) is there a benefit to Amazon prime?
  3. It's the riffs man. The riffs are so heavy that it requires higher shipping costs.
  4. I guess I didn't really think the extra $2.xx for shipping was that offensive. $11 total with shipping is peanuts. If they want a couple extra bucks for time and packing materials Im not going to begrudge them.
  5. At $6 they are practically giving it away.
  6. Im much the same. I only buy CD's if the album isn't available on vinyl (with a couple of exceptions). If it does end up being pressing to vinyl, just trade it or hock it
  7. Ordered Satan's Fire. Thanks for the heads up. If you don't see me post any more it's because my wife has murdered me. So far this week I've bought the Goya, Pallbearer, Stubb, Weedeater, and two of the Sleep Dopesmoker test prints (1 foil, 1 standard) from Southern Lord even though I already had one of the foils. If it's Sleep related I can't seem to say no. Collector. Scum. Got a notice that my Slow Season order had been completed. Hoping there is one of those Riding Easy samplers in there when it arrives. I need something new to spin on my way to work.
  8. Compared to the original the cover does seem very flimsy and thin. I was more comparing the two. I was also half drunk and bitter my cover was bent when I got it. When I originally opened it, the vinyl seemed thin, but looking at it again you are right, its pretty standard
  9. I didnt feel like I needed the Pallbearer until now. You lot are a terrible influence.
  10. Im not terribly upset about it. For those that dont have the original or those that dont want to shell out $75 for it, this is perfectly adequate for $16. For those that have the original, it saves you from spinning the money version. Win/Win.
  11. The vinyl itself is also kind of thin on the reissue. Not terrible though. Mostly the cover just sucks
  12. Got my Vol 1 today. Snapped next to the original. Original has a matte cover and better quality. The reissues cover is VERY flimsy Reissue label Original label
  13. I completely agree *cough* Riding Easy *cough*. Having 50 pressed with blank labels doesn't make it a "test pressing". It makes it a pressing of 50 with blank labels. Back when Kreation repressed Sleep's Holy Mountain they sold their "test pressings" for $30 and I quickly snatched one up thinking I got a steal. Come to find out there were like 50 of them. I was disappointed to say the least.
  14. Yah, I got it directly from Burning World. It was a bit pricey because of the conversion rates and shipping, but once the 10 test pressings are gone I figured I'd regret not buying it. The first one they sent got lost in the mail, even with Registered shipping so this is the replacement. I'd like to snag the Elder and Midnight Ghost Train tests as well.
  15. After over a month floating around somewhere via USPS, finally got this yesterday. Test Pressing of Bongripper - Satan Worshipping Doom Live at Roadburn ...also got a late delivery on my missing EMS package. Jap Electric Wizard s/t CD next to something a buddy of mine got signed for me which also arrived yesterday. He works for a catering company that specializes in catering touring musicians. He happened to run into Electric Wizard at Sonisphere and since he didn't have anything to get signed, he just grabbed a piece of paper and had them sign that for me. ..obviously LIz wrote the Lot's of Love part. I'd feel a bit creeped out if it were Jus.
  16. Does anybody else loathe the USPS as much as I do? So far this week they've screwed up nearly everything they've touched of mine. Firstly, I ordered a copy of Lo-Pan's Salvador on Nov 22nd. Shipped Monday the 24th. Scheduled delivery on Dec. 1. It arrived in here in Des Moines on the 31st (Sunday Night). Not delivered Monday. No tracking update. Not delivered Tuesday. No update. Not delivered Wednesday. No update. Not delivered today. I finally called and had to leave a message (along with my next gripe). Got a call back and was told it would be delivered tomorrow. 5 days to make it accross town. WTF. Second, somehow today I was in two places at once. I was able to sign for a registered package from Japan (Japense Electric Wizard S/T CD) at 10:30 this morning while also being at work 10 miles away. Low and behold it was not in my box when I got home. They are looking into this for me, however, Im not going to hold my breath. Third, came home Tuesday to find my mail on the ground in the driveway and not in my mail box. Apparently had a replacment carrier that was too lazy to make those extra 4 steps to my box. Thankfully it wasn't raining or warm enough to melt snow. Not terrible, but enough to irk me. ...and I do want that Colour Haze. Saw them in 2013 at Desertfest. Hadn't listened to them much prior to that, but man, they were great live.
  17. I concur. Im still waiting on a record to arrive at my house that arrived in Des Moines on Sunday... Still haven't received my shipping confirmation on my Sleep Vol 1 and I ordered on the 20th
  18. I don't think a lot people understand why Earache haven't given some of the rights back to Sleep and just assume that Earache are being a bunch of twats. Im guessing by leaving Earache when they went to London they gave up the rights to Holy Mountain, probably thinking they were going to make more money with London any way. We all know what happens from there. Either way, it's a bit of a sad story. Sleep will never see a dime from the sale of any Holy Mountain release, but as they said, they signed the contract and it is what it is.
  19. I read that Sleep post last night. "The Riff decides, Sleep obeys" best quote I've seen in a long time. More Sleep reading for those wanting insight as to why Earache will probably never give up the rights to Holy Mountain... http://askearache.blogspot.co.uk/2006/06/sleep-with-earache-what-happened.html?m=1
  20. I stopped buying from Rise Above years ago. They put out a sub-par product and charge double for it.
  21. This Im down to listen to an album and drink a beer. Just got a fresh delivery of some Ska Brewing selections that my old man brought up over Thanksgiving. Anybody going to pre-order the new Midnight Ghost Train LP today?
  22. I will probably be crucified for this, but I prefer to listen to Dopesmoker on CD. Having to flip the LP, and change to the 2nd LP really kills the vibe for me. As far as best of 2014, nothing really stands out to me this year. Perhaps Bongripper's Miserable. WoFat's The Conjuring was ok.
