  1. no racing for me, but my 2014 biking goal is to do a century ride.  I got a new bike late last year and haven't been able to use it much lately (weather, time, work, holidays, hangovers...) but i was happy to knockout two 25 mile rides over the weekend, so hopefully i can get back into a routine in the next month or so.  I only started biking again about a year and a half ago, and already did a 73 mile ride.  Not bad for a somewhat new rider on a commuter bike.

I have no friends that ride, so i have no one to push me, or to learn from (bike maintenance, advice, tips...). Kinda sucks,

  2. Looking to clear the shelves.... Shoot me offers, and i will be pricing all these shortly.  Anything not sold on the boards will head to ebay in a week or two.  I could be down for trades as well.

  3. yeah the newer releases do make me feel old as shit, and i graduated in 99.

none the less, i plan on pulling 4 7"s from local bands i saw play all the time growing up.  I bet i get no likes since they will be bands no one has heard of unless you are from tampa in the mid/late 90s. oh well.

  4. funded the Be My Doppelganger LP in July.  Still don't have the LP, but have gotten 2-4 updates since the project was funded.

its been ok, but i don't think i will end up funding many if any others.

There is something about musical kickstarter projects i just dont care for.

So i finally got the Be My Doppelganger LP around Nov of 2013.  So that was a 14-15 month wait for the LP since the end of the campaign. pretty crazy wait.

  5. good for you dude, you an your girl seem like a good fit (just judging from instagram photos and random comments).

I just got married in Nov, after 10 years of dating and 3 years of being engaged. I don't have a super awesome story, but i proposed in December on a lazy rainy weekend after cooking a fancy dinner.  it was nice, but nothing over the top romantic or special.

I was worried about the cost of the ring and wanted something pretty nice.  I looked at just about every ring shop in town and was shocked at the prices for anything that wasnt tiny. Plus i didnt find any styles i actually thought my girl would like, so i turned to the internet.  I few weeks later, i surprisingly found a reputable jeweler on ebay, and ended up buying through them.  The ring was 2.2 carats including the little stones on around the band (the main rock is 1.6 or 1.8 carats). I ended up paying just under 3,000.  Once i got it in the mail, i had it graded and appraised and the big retail store i took it too was shocked when i told them what i paid for it.  I believe it got appraised for $6K+ which is nuts.

Anyways, she loved the ring and always gets compliments on it so i feel like i did a good job.

  6. My wife Got me padded biking shorts, new water bottles, fancy bright colored dress socks, masked intruder Christmas sweater, and ordered some records but didn't arrive in time (slayer represses).

Parents gave me cash and a gift card for a local bar.

I got some gifts from sales reps I work with which included mad chocolates/candies, a chromecast USB thingy (which I haven't gotten to try yet), Starbucks gift cards, and a bottle of jack Daniels.

Haven't done presents with my wife's family yet but I'm expecting coffee products, iTunes & Starbucks giftcards. The typical.

  7. man i would love to get to see doomtree & POS.  Dessa played here a few weeks ago but i couldnt make it down there.

I was in NYC over the weekend, and was able to make it to the OWTH / Morning Glory show at the Knitting Factory which was awesome!

Now i got Dave Chappelle tomorrow (12/17), Filmage movie showing (1/17), Against Me! (1/24), Maybe seeing the Arctic Monkeys (2/1), Comeback kid (3/5), Dave Hause (3/22),

  8. i have one down the road from my work, so i could probably help you out on my lunch break.

I dont think i have the money to front you, but if you want to send me the funds i can get whatever card you need.

i also think i still have a gift card with 80 some odd dollars on it that i could get rid of too (bought a bunch of frames and lost my receipt so now have a bunch of store credit).

    let me know.

  9. ----- Just saw my parents dog for the last time... They have to put her down at 1pm today.  Brutally sad.  She was a great pup for the last 13 years.  so sad. within the last 16 months we have lost all 4 dogs i pretty much grew up with.

+ going to see Frank turner and Jimmy eat world play this afternoon

+ friends xmas party is tonight, gonna drink my face off

    - gonna miss that dog, damnit... Got something in my eyes...

  10. 12/7 - Some big shitty radio fest... but Frank Turner and Jimmy Eat world are playing, so trying to weasel some free tickets.

    12/10 - NOFX, D4, Masked Intruder

    12/11 - The Thermals

12/12 - Trip to new york

Just got tickets, so i can add

    12/17 - Dave Chappell

    1/24 - Against Me!

  11. - First day back at the office, no fun.

    - car broke down last week, cost $1,400 to fix

    - just found out my renters are moving out of my Jacksonville townhouse by the end of the month.

    - I dont have any extra funds to cover not having renters in January and people looking for a rental in December is not ideal! (wish i could get rid of that place soon)

    - Got told we probably wont get Christmas/end of the year bonuses this year.

+/- Next week i will be going to Oralndo to see NOFX/Masked Intruder on Tuesday, then heading to New York on Thursday... All awesome, except for the money problem.

    - the last couple weeks of stress added to today's shitty news about my renters has my stomach hurting.  Gotta stop worrying so much.
