  1. I'll be in the neighborhood of the Verizon Center, which looks to put me about a 30-45 minute walk from Som, Crooked Beat, Smash, Joint Custody, and Red Onion. I guess I was talking specifically record store day - I'd rather hit a place that had fewer of each item and a wider variety as opposed to a place that had fewer titles but multiple of the bigger ticket ones. In general though, any recommendation on a place that's good for crate digging? Oddball stuff, hip hop singles, trip hop / dance singles, novelty records, and the like? More disorganized the better. Also looking for movie scores/soundtracks, and sci-fi synthy stuff (in the same vein as like, BBC's radiophonic). But really, a little bit of everything. Thanks! This is super helpful!!!
  2. SOS So, I've managed to cross wires, and find myself in Washington, DC on RSD (which I wasn't planning). Anybody from the area or familiar with it enough (and kind enough) to offer recommendations on which shops are worth hitting? My brother lives there, but otherwise I'm completely unfamiliar with the area.
  3. I hit up 4 different Newbury Comics each within an hour of their opening, and not one of them had at. Was major bummed, this was on the top of my want list. Yeaaaah RevHQ!
  4. I love newbury comics. I live in RI, so it's super convenient. I totally recommend signing up for their newsletter. It's once a week and I've gotten some great deals, and the occasional free pint glass. Hell just a few weeks ago there was a "25% of all vinyl" coupon. But Norwood is definitely probably one of the best. Can't beat the used records.
  5. Can't wait for this. Just got my Sublime Robbin the Hood yesterday. I wish everybody packaged records like Hot Topic.
  6. There was an explicit bootleg on purple marble too. I'm sure it's still out there somewhere. And nowhere near that price tag.
  7. Went to Providence, RI store in person, they didn't have any copies. Called up North Attleboro, MA, said they had one copy left and went and grabbed it It's a first press /2000 Thanks, Travis
  8. HT is RIDICULOUS when it comes to packaging. Not in a bad way. Every time I order something it comes in a record mailer box inside a box that's at least 2'x1'x'1', which is also filled with like 20 feet of brown packing paper
  9. It may look strange, but I think it severely lessens the likelihood of damage to any of the corners of the record if the package is dropped or banged about in shipping (which is a problem I have ALL THE TIME). And really? I'll have to wait til i get my Interpunk copy. That's weird. edit: The mailer looks like this unfolded: so when it's folded:
  10. Got my SRC copy. It's the olive green-looking one, but its got some small smudges of red. Kinda cool. I'll post a pic later. Plus this is the first time I've gotten something in src's new mailer. Ive had real crappy postage handling lately so I appreciate the new design.
  11. variant collector's nightmare haha but I'm looking forward to getting my SRC copy.
  12. ooof. too bad it'd cost about 40 bucks with shipping to get it to the US.
  13. , , , , , , , , | | | | | | | {~*~*~*~} {*~*~*~* } ++++++++++ i liek teh cakez
  14. i picked up the SRC and Interpunk copies. Will probably snag the HT one too. SRC has changed the "Vinyl Color" description on the item page from "Mixed Color" to "Mixed Various Colors" Here's hoping they aren't all pale blue. At least they aren't vomit purple.
  15. Well, here's to hoping they figure it out. I love Newbury, for records, cds, dvds, and comics. I hit one up at least once a week And anyone in the Massachusetts area needs to check out the Norwood one. I recently discovered it. Not only is it huge, but i'm pretty sure they're the only one that buys/sells used records. I've gotten some pretty great deals there on long out of print stuff.
  16. sweet! grabbed +44 - When Your Heart Stops Beating LP New Found Glory - Nothing Gold Can Stay LP Head Automatica - Decadence
  17. Shitty. Sorry to hear this. Got in touch with Mike Park, and we worked it out. He's a pretty cool guy.
  18. Got my asian man pre-order today. Too bad all three records were warped, and the glue had come undone so all the sleeves had fallen apart. :-/
