I nailed a piece of masonite to the back of my 4x4 (set up with the long pieces going horizontally) to help hold the entire thing together. I recommend doing this on any size you may have.

Attn Virgil - RE In The Red Vol 1.5 Series
scooterist136 replied to thesack18's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I have many issues with this but the one that seems really present for me right now is this: A few other records have been pressed since the money was taken for the ITR records. I know the money I paid for the subscription is long gone and was used to finance other seemingly more important and better selling records. I would simply like a real answer to when the records will be out or the money will be refunded. Virgil stated in pretty clear words that this project wasn't a priority for him and it shows. VC has crumbled in the past year and this subscription was one of the casualties of poor business practices during a failing and strained economy. -
IN THE RED "Volume 1.5" subscription

I would start posting about this EVERY thread that Virgil starts until he answers you. It will annoy the board but it may be the only way to get an answer. -

http://vinylcollective.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27375 March 3rd is when they went up for pre-order. It's been over a year and half of them have come out. So, maybe this time next year we'll have the other two. -
New demos you've heard recently
scooterist136 replied to lokithelion's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I've seen them a couple times as I'm pretty good friends with John and Carter. Band kills live. Jesse from Glass and Ashes also plays guitar. One of the loudest bands I've seen live in a while. -
Using Wood Glue to Clean Vinyl (?)
scooterist136 replied to lonesomexloveus's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
This seems really interesting. I may just go buy some Eddy Grant record at the thrift store just to see how this works. I also have an old needle so I won't be using my normal one. Could be crazy fun...or crazy stupid...for $2.00 ($1.50 for glue, $0.50 for record) I'll get my money worth in entertainment. -

what are your political beliefs?
scooterist136 replied to lonesomexloveus's topic in Everything Else Message Board
I too fall into that view as well but I tend to want to really support the labor movement. The book I give my friends to read if they ask about my political views is What is Anarchism? (also known as "What is Communist Anarchism?" or "ABC of Anarchism") by Alexander Berkman. I think he explains the ideal very well without being overly wordy. I prefer the writings of Peter Kropotkin. His writings aren't very introductory though. -

IN THE RED "Volume 1.5" subscription
scooterist136 replied to peanutuk's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I would hardly consider reading threads regarding his releases on the message board associated with his label/distro as trolling. Also, emails are ignored and go unanswered. The point is, I don't think anyone should be required to ask for money back or cancel their subscriptions because they are frustrated that at the lack of news and lack of progress on these records. I wouldn't have bought a subscription if I didn't like the band and want the records. I just want the records I paid for, that were sold long before these newer pre-orders and releases. -
IN THE RED "Volume 1.5" subscription
scooterist136 replied to peanutuk's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
My main frustration comes with Virgil's complete lack of care regarding people's questions. You can see that he is posting on the board...usually stuff to make him money...while ignoring questions from people who have already paid for stuff. It's complete bullshit really. I don't care about new Pre-Orders. I want to know where records that were paid for a year ago are in the process of getting pressed. Rather than press another new record, SH/VC should press the records they've promised and have been paid for. -
