Old Canes stuff is coming. Working on one thing at a time. The 7"s are next in line. The OC LP3 is after that. OC LP3 will be free to the Kickstarters.

You’re right about that. I have been awful about updates. I apologize. I am not much of a communicator, as anyone that knows me would tell you. I get into a head down, plow forward mindset and I forget to take into account things like letting people know what I’m doing. That said. As I turn my attention fully to Old Canes, this deficiency has been made all the more clear to me, and I intend to rectify that. I am committed to opening the lines of communication with everyone involved, as well as fulfilling the project.

Hey this is Chris. I understand the sentiments, and frankly I would have a ‘believe it when I see it’ outlook on this too. However, for the record, this project will be fulfilled, and currently is the ONLY recording project that I am working on. I will not be taking on any other recording projects until both this series AND the next Old Canes album are done. That means they will be done soon. My question is, would it have been better that, when recording and listening back to the songs, and not being happy with what I have yet… that I go ahead and release that? That’s not how I work. I don’t just write some words and call it a day. I want those words to not only say what I want, but to sound musical and sound good recorded. That means sometimes I scrap songs and rewrite them over and over until I find the right words. I’m not going to put out something I don’t like, and I won’t know it until I hear it back recorded. Add to this, as I mentioned in my update, is that for the last 2 years I have been constantly bouncing between, work, family, freelance projects, and the new Appleseed Cast album. It’s passed in a blink. With my update what I was trying to express was that I fully recognize that the 7” series has taken way too long to fulfill. I appreciate everyone’s extraordinary patience. My sole focus right now is to record my Old Canes songs. To tell you the truth I am very excited about them. Take this at face value. What I am not saying is ‘ sorry, maybe I’ll get around to it someday.’

Hi, Chris here. You guys are 100% right. The Shapeshifter 7" project is taking much longer that I expected it to. I have been insanely busy this last year, and I have over-booked myself on pretty much every front. I apologize for not keeping everyone in the loop. I am notoriously bad at communicating these kinds of things. I was expecting to have the first of the 7"s done in April, but around that time I had to deal with some line-up changes in Appleseed Cast, and I had to get new folks ready for our tour. That sapped away most of my free time this summer. Where the Shapeshifter project stands now: Shapeshifter 1 is nearly done. It WILL be done by the end of this month. Shapeshifter 2 is half done. I should have it done in October. Shapeshifter 3 I have not yet begun. I have about 8 songs recorded for the Old Canes LP3. Originally, when I went into the Shapeshifter project I was going to use 6 of these songs. Then I started writing songs just FOR the 7" project, and that kind of shifted the idea sonically, to the point that I didn't want to use the songs that I had written for LP3. I wanted Shapeshifter to be different... and it is. But that also has added time to it. Anyway, I'm sorry that I have not yet delivered, and not kept you in the loop.
