Arrived today, it's basically the latest 'repress' on orange marble vinyl (1LP). It's going straight back.

Parental sticker..... UGH! (Is it removable?) So, how does this sound? Really hoping it's a revelation like the Blood Mountain 45rpm was, with proper mastering and dynamics. Mine is on it's way but won't be here for a few more days.

Mine dispatched this morning, although on the shipping note it only mentions 'LP'...... Probably too good to be true but we'll see when it comes. It's going straight back if it turns out to be 1LP.

The Latest Opeth 2LP (Black) was only £16.99 and I've ordered other 2LP's from EMP for a similar price (Orphaned Land's latest '...OrWarrior' is £14.99 and 2LP).

Well, if this is really offered by EMP only, this will be VERY limited...there was an EMP exclusive of Opeth's new record "Heritage" that was pressed on white vinyl, /100. Regarding the fact that there have been 5 other variants released at the same time, this isn't too unreal, I guess... Usually, if it's an EMP exclusive, they state this clearly on the listing page.

Just had confirmation from EMP that this is 2LP and on Relapse. Very strange that this doesn't seem to be available anywhere else! I've ordered a copy so will report back once it arrives. My feelings are that this is a Roadrunner release (Licensed from Relapse?) pressed possibly by Cargo or something like that. Will know for sure in a few days.

Can't seem to find any other info anywhere on the net, but EMP have Leviathan up for pre-order and a 11/11/2011 release. Is this from Omerch? I had a right nightmare with them recently over the Heritage boxset. My copy arrived and everything was fine except LP1 with a huge scratch over the title track (it ruined that song basically). I asked for just a replacement LP1 as I didn't really want to send the whole thing back and risk getting a 2nd copy with other items damaged. They requested I sent the whole thing back for a full replacement and then I heard nothing for weeks. I kept emailing with no reply and then I finally get an 'out of stock' generic email from them. Apparently they had no more and couldn't fulfill my replacement.... wtf? Anyways some angry emails later they somehow magically found a copy to send me. However this copy was not in as good all round condition as the first but the most important thing was that both vinyl were damage-free and played without trouble. It was a very bad experience, especially since they had my money upfront since July 2011!! Will never use them again.

Not imo. 2X45 on black should be sonic heaven. If it's anything like the Blood Mountain 2x45 I'd be certainly happy! Why anyone would want an audiophile pressing on colour I don't know. Maybe the 1LP version will be on colour, for those that collect but don't play? Or maybe there will be some colour variations down the line? All I know is that this release sounds awesome right now (the deluxe that is) so really am hoping this has been mastered and cut properly.

Hmmm, thats pretty fucked up. What the hell happened to the 2xLP with Etching on Side 4...? Cargo are retards. Looks like I'll be sticking to the US release.

Just had an email from amazon (UK) saying that there is a delay in them getting this vinyl. Also, my order seems to have gone from £16.xx to £10.xx and it's saying 'currently unavailable', which basically means they've taken it off from pre-order. I wonder whats going on? the £10 price seems too low for a 2LP set, it must be for the single LP. I've emailed amazon about this and will post back when I get a reply.

Any chance you can give more details on the mastering, cutting and pressing? Is this specially mastered for vinyl? Sourced from master hi-res files?

Bit of a bump here. Curious about the pressing quality. I already own all Mastodon albums on vinyl (except Lifesblood) but my Remission copy is on coloured vinyl and Leviathan is squashed onto 1LP. I've read bad things about Relapse vinyl although the 2 Baroness LP's I have are flat, dead quiet and sound brilliant. My copy of Remission though (purple) is full of crackle, sounds like a bad press. Also the weight seems very little, like 140gm or less. Interested to hear the mastering quality. Is Blood Mountain the same mastering as the 2010 re-issue? Also, on the Leviathan 1lp press, the track Megalodon is much quieter than all the other tracks, it's strange. Is this fixed on the 2lp?

Confusing stuff. The Roadrunner with Etching on side D can't be 45rpm, as this album will need to use all 4 sides with the 53min running time. However, there is no way I'm getting any 1lp version. I am hoping that the Roadrunner will have the official album art and be 33rpm black and then the Relapse/Warner will be the 'alternate' cover with 45rpm on black. I'm 99% sure the coloured vinyl will be the 1LP version (just like with BM and CTS). I'd like to grab both of the above if I'm correct with my guess. Not ordering anything yet though until more info is available.
