  1. yeah. We all make mistakes, very few of us make a living from them. Why don't we start a kickstarter or something to help this poor guy out? Dude, Fugazi, vinyl! Brah!
  2. Careful, Shitty Rambo might come after you. Don't be dissin' on the 90's top 40 yo!
  3. no, I think I may have been mistaken with what I said maybe. Unless that was in jest? I don't know anything about Harvard, I've heard their name, I have no idea if they're "big" or not. Anyway, didn't mean to offend anyone. Not sure what Shitty Rambo guy was getting at, but I have nothing against anyone here. Granted I haven't really posted in a few years, and have a different account since Virgil banned like half of us back in the day. But yeah, tis all good on this end
  4. Maybe that was the other guy, the dude that took did the Blink stuff and took peoples money? He might be the one that had the cd art blown up and pixelated with a big ole cd barcode on it also. Who knows? They're all doing the same thing, they kind of blend in together. I'm old, I don't belong here.
  5. Actually why am I surprised at all. I'm posting on a board with a huge Silverchair banner ad on it and a Dumb and Dumber soundtrack banner ad on the bottom
  6. I take it he comes across as a good decent person to you? I don't know him personally no. But his business practices and the way he comes across on a message board make him seem undesirable. I'm not ripping anyone ass, especially no one on this board, I don't know hardly any of the people on here. This place is super bizarre. like 40 pages of people calling this dude out, I make a post, and people jump on the defensive. And yes, people that listen to that type of music are mainstream trend hoppers that collect pieces of plastic that look cool. What happened to this place when SRC took it over, did they bring all their fans with em?
  7. 2015 version of Virgil's Craft beer tour? I still wonder who the (10?) people were that gave Virgil 2000 bucks each. I can't remember what they were supposed to be buying, I think every release for the remainder of his label or something? Which oddly enough ended right afterwards. We need an old school Virgil thread on here. There was some great moments in history
  8. A lot of people put forth a ton of effort, sweat, debt, borrowed, begged and have done anything possible to put out releases the feel a kinship to. This guy has no heart, no work ethic, very little ethics at all. And there is no way anyone can feel a passion for effing Good Charlotte, Korn, Starting line, and whatever weird mainstream genreless crap is released. He's in it for the money, and on an independent level, that's a very bad place to be. He's been a jerk since before he put out his first release. His response when I asked him why he doesn't just put his own stuff was "I tried that once and lost money". What?! Money grubbing vulture that probably makes 80% of his profit from this board alone. I don't know the guy, but based on what he post's here, and the releases he puts out, going behind bands backs, and the complete lack of anything even remotely resembling ethics of any kind whatsoever, I don't like him. At all. And as always, VC is either blind, or chooses to be blind because things come out on cool wacky colors, and it's dollar bin stuff you liked in high school or middle school. Seriously, these Korn albums you can find in the dollar bins at any record store on cd. Putting a cd on a 12" plastic slab does nothing except make it more inconvenient.
  9. Also he doesn't put out any records, he puts out other labels records... again. Effortless label. If anyone here has 5000 bucks, you can do the exact same thing this guy does (albeit better) I still remember some release he did, where he just blew up the cd art to 12" size, the back had some huge godawful looking UPC code on it.
  10. I got downvoted for that I deleted it, don't want the thread to get canned, plus that was super immature.. immaturity keeps us young!
  11. ETR won't be around long. Seems like these "licencing house" type labels pop up every other month, a few of em do good financially for a while and then go belly up after a couple years. "labels" like this guys have a very short shelf life. I'm sure a lot of the old heads on here have seen probably 20 of these kinds of labels come and go over the last 10 years. Taking the easy path is always short lived. There is no real demographic that he is targeting, just repressing anything that was popular at one time, no loyalty from people. People that like really really horrible top 40 music buy his crap, but once he loses the crop of variant chasers, and musically deficient trend hoppers, he'll be done with, and in a mountain of debt.
  12. Definitely, I'm sure volume and their longevity keeps prices low, But yeah between them and No Idea they really keep prices insanely low. 2.50-3.50 wholesale on 7's and 5.50-8.00 wholesale on LP's. Pretty nuts. And retail I think is still around 10-11 bucks for LP's. Not a huge fan of a lot of Fat stuff, but mad props to em for keeping things "punk" for lack of a better term, and maintaining a standard for other labels. I'm certainly happy to pay 12-14 bucks for an LP nowadays, I know how much it cost's and how much labels lose on a lot of stuff. Prices are slowly creeping upwards at most plants now also. But yeah nice to see bigger labels not gauging their customers, or even raising pricing to a fair amount. I wouldn't bat an eye if either one of those labels raised prices by a buck or two.
  13. That's Fat, I'm sure they don't pay +/-3 bucks a pop for em. Big difference when you're pressing hundreds of thousands per year vs, typical punk labels 1000 or less per pressing. A place as big as FAT is probably singlehandedly paying most of those guys salaries..
  14. The most we've ever gotten is 9. Getting so many damn test presses kind of takes away from it I think. Also, who get's 7's at Pirates Press? Not sure if anyone could find a more expensive place to press 7's if they put forth an effort.
  15. "No proofs requested" lol And yeah, seems like 80% of labels get tons of test pressings nowadays. Kinda pisses me off to see that.
  16. Here ya go if you wanna reminisce (I wouldn't use this link to buy anything physical fyi, cheaper on our own site I don't keep up with the bandcamp account too much) Here is one of the LP's, We did green, red, red with black mix. And black. These are the remastered for digital tracks. http://jailhouserecords3.bandcamp.com/album/the-pinkerton-thugs-the-pain-and
  17. I don't post on here too often anymore. Used to be mostly punk type stuff talked about and such. But yeah Pinkerton Thugs got back together a few years ago. We did a re-master of "Pain And The Pinkerton Thugs" on vinyl for the first time, and "Life Liberty And The Pursuit Of Shit" and another split with Ducky Boys with in 2012 with all new studio tracks. They toured on it for almost 3 months. Phenomenal shows. I think Paul kinda got soured on the whole punk thing. It was good while it lasted, I guess they were active again like 2011-early 2014 or so. Record sales just aren't what they were in the glory days. End Of An Era sold like crack, as did all of The Unseen's and Blanks stuff. We work with Mark Unseen now with a couple of his other bands, just night and day as far as "street punk" style punk rock goes. Mark is in Tenebrae with some of the guys from Slapshot, Agnostic Front, Ramallah, Only Living Witness. Anyway.. I'm rambling. But yeah, we've kinda stuck to our guns, still slinging street punk and hardcore and such for better or worse
  18. wow, Yeah the Killer Blanks record was always one of my favorites. They're still kickin' took a hiatus for a good while, they've been playing out quite a bit over the last few months, and are planning on doing some touring this year behind this record. Still the original lineup. Little known fact.. Paul from The Unseen/Pinkerton Thugs was their guitarist for a couple years in the late 90's early 00's. Super stoked on this record! Hope others are as well. Thanks for the comment man, they haven't skipped a beat.. Parasitix are really good as well, this will be their first "real" professionally recorded output, great live band.

  20. I wonder who the next label to buy this message board will be. This is quickly going down craft beer tour territory.
  21. Yeah I noticed that I actually laughed at myself after seeing it.
  22. It's a small town in Newfoundland. Just a vacation suggestion.
  23. It all makes sense now. Thanks for clearing everything up! Can't wait to order the next Matchbox 20 cd needless repress on 12"
