It is.  At least mine was.

This album is far from perfect so I don't get all of the 10/10's and 5 Star ratings.  It's good, but it's far from his best and some of the lyrics are very cringe worthy.  

 

Kanye is tough to respect as a person, but this kind of departure for someone of his popularity is quite the ballsy move.  I just wish the album was better.

Is this just the full album with a different cover?  I noticed this on the Reckless website the other day as well and just thought they were selling the album early.

Does the deluxe record have the regular inner hole or the bigger one, that require a 45RPM adapter to fit over the spindle? I ask this because I've bought 45RPM records from Matador that needed an adaptor to fit.

 

It does not need an adaptor, it's a regular 12" hole.  There's a joke there somewhere.

Yep.  Definitely worth it.  I held out listening until my copy came and I'm impressed.  I ordered the deluxe and it sounds perfect.

JUST SHIPPED! Fuck yeah! I might actually get a new release that I'm looking forward to on or BEFORE the release date! My poor brother will have to wait though as his was ordered on May 6th and has not yet shipped. It did go out of stock between my order and his so he might be waiting a good while. Which blows.

 

So it sounds like you ordered 6 days after I did and yours shipped first.  I wonder how they decide things like that.  Well either way, glad yours shipped, I'm sure I'll get mine eventually.

Me too.  Did yours come with a download though?  Mine didn't.

 

Mine did not.  But I have noticed Amazon lets you download mp3's using their site for some physical releases I've bought.  I'll look into it later.

I paid $25 for the Husker Du double 7" at Record Breakers in Chicago. They only had 1 and a bunch of people wanted it, so I just felt lucky to be the one to grab it. 

 

Still kind of pissed about that, as I chose that over Blind Melon and now I can't find Blind Melon anywhere.

Yep (with an extra 7") , but it was #1 on my list and I just figured it would be about that much everywhere.  Oh well, I've been overcharged more for things I've wanted less.

So I grabbed Husker Du for $24 at the first store I went to.  My buddy saw it for $13 at another store and mentioned to the guy it was $24 at another store, and the guy asked "which store?" and proceeded to "report them" to the RSD people.  Can you actually do that?

Also - the store I was at had at least 50 copies of Zaireeka and I don't think anyone even touched them.

Seeing Negative Element in the first post made me bookmark it already.

Not my child, but my niece definitely loves looking through my vinyl.  She's 5 now, and when she was over on Sunday she looked at the cover of the new Thee Oh Sees album and just started laughing.

 

She's really into The Beatles lately (thanks to those crappy Kidz Bop albums) and we listen to the new box set when she is over quite a bit.  She loves the early albums.

I'm not involved in this in any way but I thoroughly enjoyed every word of that email
