  1. Represses are in the works for copelands back catalog

    Sweet!

Honestly, they're probably going to come out with another pressing of this. BMT, YAMS, and EIT are highly sought after and haven't had any recent represses. I don't think anyone would consider trading for this.

Cool, figured as much but hey thought I'd throw it out there.

It's your record, do as you wish with it...should probably wait until you have it in hand to try to trade it though

    Right, good idea.

Which variant do you have for trade?

    Pm'd

Fine if you want to trade it, but what you have in mind to ask for is a bit steep.

Very true, just thought I'd trow it out there.

I send TDR an email asking whether this is getting another repress. Here is their answer:

"We are in fact repressing this! Keep checking our Twitter and Facebook for updates in the next week or two."

Sweet! my question is irrelevant then haha but stoked for the people who missed out! Set your alarms people!

Thanks everybody for answering my questions and being helpful. I usually lurk and am glad I didn't post something too dumb.  :)

Hope everyone has a good day today!

  2. This may be unpopular, but what would be the proper etiquette in terms of looking for a trade for my copy of TMTMTP?

This is a favorite of mine, but given that I just recently got into the vinyl game, I wouldn't be opposed to trading my copy for another favorite record that I 'slept' on(Copeland's BMT and YAMS or Jack's Mannequin EIT or some other band) because I wasn't into vinyl at the time. Does this seem reasonable? Or is it just a douchy thing to want?

I ordered the record with the intention of spinning it and listening to it, but given that there is a demand for it and I have other records that I prioritize more, is it a bad thing to offer this for a trade? And if a trade were to not happen, I will still be gladly spinning this when it arrives.

Just wanted to get opinions from others...

  3. If you are in the US then Shure or Audio Technica will probabaly be your best bet in that price range and of the two I would go Shure as jase suggested.

definitely go for the shure, as they even have a 2 year warranty on all of their needles/carts. if you send in a broken needle or cart with receipt, they'll ship you out a new one for free.

Looks like I'm getting the shure. Thanks for all the help!  :)

  4. From the Lawrence show:

    TWIABP:

    - 3/4 shirts $15 each

    - crewneck? maybe not really sure but i think it was $30

    - S/T LP $15

    - Deer Leap LP $10, but they only had three left and I bought one so who knows if they still have them

    - Formlessness/Josh is Dead 7" $5 each

    Into It. Over It:

     - 4/5 shirts $15 each (including a really hilarious peanuts shirt that I think everybody in this forum should own)

     - multiple LPs $15 (I didn't notice a tour exclusive, but i didn't ask either so...)

     - topshelf book with 7" $?

    AGBPOL

     - LP $15

     - Shirt $?

    * As you can see I spent much more time at the TWIABP table then Into It. Over It. or AGBPOL.

    Hope this helps!  :)

  5. It's not as daunting as it may first seem. There are a lot of videos on YouTube to help. I'd highly recommend getting some mini screwdrivers and a set of small, long nosed pliers.

Oh and also, get a strong magnet. And put it close to all your new small tools. Leave it for a few days and they'll now be magnetised too.

It really helps a lot with the fiddly things

Thanks! Didn't even think about that!

  6. Hey everybody,

I have a Tchnics SL-L1 that was given to me by my uncle and was formerly my dad's before that. So I was talking to him at Christmas, and my uncle and dad both confirmed they hadn't changed the cartridge since it was brand new. So I have read the beginner's guide, and I wanted some recommendations on a new cartridge.

    I have looked into:

    • Audio-Technica AT95E
    • Audio-Technica AT92E
    • Grado BLACK1 Prestige

Now, I want to spend < $60/70. I have heard of issues with the Grado BLACK1 on another forum. Is there another cartridge around this price range I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance, any help would be greatly appreciated!

    My setup (if it matters):

    • Technics SL-L1
    • Sony STR-7045
    • Polk T15
