  1. I'm possibly going to be in Vegas for RSD. Is Zia the place to go? How early do I need to be in line to be sure I get everything I want?

Zia is the place to go for a bigger variety, there are two in vegas. Last year I got to zia by 730 I think and was 40th in line, but this was the one on eastern/flamingo (it's closer to the strip and unlv.) This year I'm trying the Sahara location. As a last ditch you can run to record city. They had their rsd stuff in one small box last year, but a way smaller crowd. I preordered my needs list with them.

  2. Bummed Vegas doesn't get a VIP package, but this will be the first time he's been to Vegas and the first time I'll get to see him.

So 18 year old me is super excited anyways.

25 year old me is going to feel old being surrounded by so many kids though.

Does his tour carry most of his stuff on vinyl? I keep wanting to buy from his store but don't want to pay shipping from Canada.

  3. Same.

Check your account on mondo. I haven't gotten an email either but has been marked as shipped in my account.

I don't trust mondo's emails anyways. Last time they gave me the wrong tracking number for a print and I freaked out seeing it was in California. I thought I chose the wrong shipping address in PayPal.

  4. So anyways, I was standing there waiting to use the payphone. This guy who was on the phone turns around and tips his hat LIKE THIS. And who do you think that guy was? Emilio Estevez! The Mighty Duck man, I swear to God! I even yelled the Breakfast Clubber's name. I was like, "Emilioooooooo."

    Seriously though..

I met Ryan gosling at Disneyland while getting a churro.

& Michelle Obama at my friend's coffee shop. So tall.

  5. Working in the ER has made me incredibly judgemental and short tempered. I've started taking a lot of my frustrations out on my lady when I get home and I hate that. I'm so close to getting my nursing license and at this point I don't even know if I can do this anymore. People treat medical workers like shit.

Both of my parents are in the medical field. They always tell me how proud they are I'm back in college and getting my life back together. (Long story short: I delayed my life to be in a toxic relationship with a girl that cheated on me repeatedly, stole my money, my bike and held my car ransom). I'm afraid to talk to them about it. I just keep hoping it gets better.

Also: being at work is the only time I can get away from the lady friend's gluten free hippie food and secretly get my junk food on. I hardly get treats anymore after being put on diabetic meds.

  6. Okcupid was a terrifying place. I think in my case when it said "gay" on my profile, men there read that as "challenge." I always wonder if some of those creepy pickup lines have actually ever worked on someone.

I also got a lot of, "I'm in Vegas for the weekend." Type of stuff.

Good luck! It will only get weirder.

  7. Nah. It's everywhere, Vegas isn't bike friendly by any means, nor are the cops, so cyclists here feel like it's justified to ride like an asshole and be aggressive for their share of the road. I've been hit by a car before and I got lucky. Most aren't. I don't see the purpose of people (my friends included) feeling like they can blow through red lights. It's just a ticking time bomb. Also.. wear a helmet! Protect your head.

To the other question.. wheels don't necessarily need a huge upgrade since you're riding it on the road. It's the hub that can make a difference. It also just depends on what you're doing with your bike. If you're doing tricks (not my thing but everyone's different), a thicker profile wheel would be a good upgrade. They can take the hits better.

PS 1/8 is the way to go.. Stick with that.

  8. I only lurk here, but I'll throw my opinion in there as well..

A change in pedal/clip/strap combo is always good start in my eyes. I don't know what yours came with, but getting new toe clips + double straps will hold your feet in tight (plus some MKS sylvan tracks or whatever your feet fit in comfortably.)

Another option is your gear ratio. I have never personally liked gear ratios that come stock on bikes. When I was younger and rode a fixed gear I rode 47x17. I also had a brake.

Like the others said.. don't bother with the aerospoke/hed3 .. leave that for the velodrome. With any sort of wind those things toss you everywhere, anyways.
