  1. yeah - when we do mailorder on fridays, the post office doesn't come for pick-up those days. so everything packaged on fridays is postmarked for mondays
  2. yeah it'd be a tough sell for us to try to do other Valencia LPs when this one hasn't sold out yet, and it's their most popular one. maybe a very short run would make sense, personally I'd love to have all their stuff on wax.
  3. we usually have extras after we get all the mail-order out. i'll post about that in here first so anyone who missed it can know.
  4. yeah we are very surprised. i thought that ordering 500 would let us have it in stock for at least a couple months. we're so busy through the first half of the year though that we unfortunately won't be able to repress this anytime soon but hopefully we can do some more one day.
  5. yeah i feel that. it's easy to get wrapped up in fancy vinyl things and wind up costing yourself a boatload of money. what we try to consider is like, "does Thing X provide an obvious bump in value?" if you follow me. like, a screen-printed B-side is a thing that obviously costs extra, and any vinyl buyer knows this – is that worth bumping a record up in price from say $12 to $14? probably yes. but i can't bump my price up a couple bucks for a splatter variant and feel good about that as a label owner because as a customer i wouldn't be stoked on that.
  6. there is at least a chance that they will not even be around tomorrow morning under 50 left
  7. i'm not trying to stir shit or anything but just providing some perspective because i've done a couple major label reissues. our acceptance phantoms reissue was $19 and we worked at it to keep the cost low but it's definitely doable. we're doing a 2xLP really soon that isn't even gonna be $25.
  8. to justify a $25 price point for a single LP i think i'd have to be charged a licensing fee of upwards of $6 per record pressed. i've never heard of a fee like that before.
  9. nine splatter have been restocked and are for sale on their own, that's the last of 'em unless we wind up with extras somehow after mail-order and any replacements
  10. i feel you! just figured that some folks reading the thread may be interested about that and i don't mind being open about how we do things.
  11. i guess the store may be slow. if you give me your order number i can just double check right quick
  12. that's not always the plan, but oftentimes you have to pay a fairly significant charge to get a "cool" variant. for example tri-color comes with a separate charge. so if you are already paying that charge, it makes sense to do a decent number of them...like, we're not trying to pay $XX for a specific variant than only do 100 of that if you feel me. we're trying to keep the prices down for you guys.
  13. there are still a few copies of the splatter available in the two-pack bundle. we had it worked out where there was an "under-lap" where not all of the /150 variant could be sold on their own. usually this doesn't come up, because usually more people go for the bundle right away, and it's not THAT MANY left, but just FYI.
  14. the person who does our mail-order, Emily, is also a part-owner of Lame-O Records, and they've got their six-way split that went on sale today. these Mansions records will absolutely start shipping this week but i know she's busy today so maybe not today.
