  1. yeah a bunch of them are popping up on ebay. i wonder if there's a distro selling these? i definitely need to snag one, this is going to devalue this record for the interim. (edit) which is a good thing, i've been following this record on ebay for ever a year, trying to get a decent price
  2. bump. looks like it just got another re=issue? milky white/grey clear vinyl. plus bonus tracks is this shit official?.
  3. Just bought this NEW in Columbus yesterday. Turns out, I already have this. It's a pretty cool bootleg, has alternate versions of some of the songs. Paid $27 for it. Will sell for $20 plus shipping. It's on Black Vinyl, FYI Willing to trade for anything on my want list on my dead format profile: http://deadformat.net/tradelist/JLEWCHUCKEROO More info on the record on the discogs link http://www.discogs.com/Beatles-Sgt-Peppers-Lonely-Hearts-Club-Band/release/4610707 thanks!
  4. i agree with your post. in a perfect world we would have had more punchy drums from grohl and more Oliveri. sorry i came off like i was disagreeing
  5. i thought the same thing the first time i spun the LP. then i listened to it a second time and decided the record was genius production wise from cover to cover. then i listened to it probably a dozen times this weekend. couldn't be happier with this record. It's got a very late 60s sensibility mixed with the vibe of the self titled record. i love it.
  6. just pulled out my SOTMC 2xLP to listen to it for the first time yesterday. Totally fucking warped. totally fucking bummed.
  7. bump. anyone have an ipod collecting dust? i want to buy
  8. i'm pretty sure VARDCORE was looking to get rid of one a while back. hit him up.
  9. me too. bought mine from SRC last week. wanted to grab one before it went OOP. my number is 3923. it showed up with a significant ding/bend in the top right corner of the jacket. bend went through to the MOFI sleeve too. total bummer, but i really don't want to send it back for another one. at least now i can't flip it 10 years down the road!
  10. single is pretty sweet. reminds me of Beatles a little bit for some reason. definitely picking this one up
  11. cleaned em. playing great! stoked. thanks for the info everyone!
  12. i have a few friends who have really really nice tables, and yeah nothing ever skips. but that can be a double edged sword in certain cases. for instance, when my band put out our second record, the test press skipped badly on all of our record players, one was my newmark, the other two were the standard Sony record player. however the record played just fine on the label owner's really nice table. when we got the second test press in, the first thing i did was throw it on my shitty all-in-one crosley player (that fake wood model), and it made it through the whole record without skipping. my point is that i would never let something I did be released on vinyl that didn't play right out of the sleeve on an average record player. the average record buyer (like myself) probably has an entry level turntable with a basic needle / cartridge upgrade at most. there's no excuse for selling thousands of people records that skip badly right out of the sleeve. even if it's on a shitty all-in-one crosley, and even if the record isn't cleaned first. of course, a situation like this really shows the importance of record maintenance (basic cleaning), something i didn't do up to this point. but that's because i never had an issue with skipping on 99% of the 200+ records i own. lesson learned.
  13. well i don't have the BEST equipment. I have a Numark USB turntable with a Shure cartridge and needle. I also have one of those shitty Crosley all-in-one players that i keep in my kitchen for when i'm cooking / doing dishes.
  14. yeah i saw this earlier in the thread. going to do this tonight. what exactly makes a newly pressed record skip so bad that you have to clean it? is it just dust/static? i'm not really savvy in the why/how of record maintenance
  15. i'm having serious skip problems with most of the records in this box set. it's really disappointing.
  16. yeah unfortunately we couldn't make a trade deal. i really wanted it to work out!
  17. I don't care what generation it is, as long as it has a decent battery life. i don't care about the condition either as long as it's usable and functional. Here's my trade list: http://deadformat.net/tradelist/JLEWCHUCKEROO I have some other non-record stuff i might be willing to trade. I will update the post later after i root through my apt. Other trade stuff: Kindle Touch w/ Amazon Leather case (book light part of the case) Batman: Arkham City (360)
