joshtank
We are now offering preorders for the Knife Hits "Eris" LP. So get on board with, what Decibel Magazine called, "the brutal/intense side of screamo, veering into grind, along the lines of Orchid, Pg. 99, early Converge and Discordance Axis."No wonder I love this record so much. More information below, or head straight to the store to listen and buy a copy of "Eris." We have a limited amount of many of the other Dead Tank releases, and a bunch of last years releases have been marked down to $10 each. We also have a few bundles left of the four random LPs and one random 7" for $25ppd in the US. If you've bought from Dead Tank before, I'll be able to base some of the records in your random package from your previous purchases. The new Senior Fellows full length, "The Christened Remains of an Evolutionary Catastrophe", in recorded and in the works for a Fall release. Listen to the previous Senior Fellows LP here. Summer is a lean time, but I'm glad enough support exists that we can pull things together to release 4 new LPs. Many thanks to you. -Josh Knife Hits "Eris" LP Preorder ships Sept 14th. This album is out Sept 16th. Recorded and mixed by Jonathan Nunez of Torche, Eris is twelve tracks of wounded and rabid hardcore, evoking turn-of-the-millennium screamo bands like Orchid and Pg. 99 who dealt in passion, poetry, and all-out brutality. The sound is so intense, it veers from screamo to grindcore, with blastbeats pelting like a hailstorm and riffs hurtling forward the way Discordance Axis' once did, and occasionally slows to a white-knuckle,Converge-worthy dirge. Akin to newer bands like Loma Prieta, Knife Hits takes the most crushing and emotive vibes of the late '90s/early '00s scene and makes new magic with it.Formed in Orlando, Florida in 2011, and relocated to Philly and Chicago, Knife Hits consists of members of grind-punkers Backslider, and ex-members of Khann, Republicorpse, and more. The album was mastered by Nick Zampiello (Modern Life Is War, Unsane). 12.00 | Listen / Order Algae Guck "Delicious Casket" Tape Florida synth hellion. Catchy, dark. Worth a listen. 6.00 | Listen / Order Ancst "Moloch" LP The first full length by Berlin based blackened crust collective ANCST. 12.50 | Listen / Order Bacteria "28 Trax Demo" LP Originally released by Dan-Doh Records as a paper sleeve CD, finally on Vinyl now. 28 songs demo of BACTERIA from 1994 with Kawakami from DISCLOSE. Ultimative stenchcore short cut grind in the vein of FEAR OF GOD and SORE THROAT. 17.50 | Listen / Order Coneheads, The "L.P.1. aka "14 Year Old High School PC-Fascist Hype Lords Rip Off Devo for the Sake of Extorting $$$ from Helpless Impressionable Midwestern Internet Peoplepunks" LP Oh yes, it's going to get weird once you put this shit on. Coneheads are a basement punk band who have decided to douse themselves in creepy circus riffs, robot meets alien vocals with science-fiction wackyness. Keep in mind, it's still punk and damn catchy! Who said weird can't be catchy? They sound like DOW JONES AND THE INDUSTRIALS on speed or a more manic DEVO. This would perfectly fit in 1982 but I doubt they were born before 92. Major points for historical awareness! The rhythm barrels along while solos are interspersed at six second intervals, desperately played like a blur between a Jerry Lee Richard piano solo and a fevered banjo picker who lives in an Appalachian cave. It's hard to find the line between cheap gimmick and true weirdness sometimes, but this one shows that line with every spin. This band is highly addictive and leaves you stunned! 18.50 | Listen / Order Dark Circles / Abstracter split LP Dark Circles (canada) vs Abstracter (usa). brutals.hc/crust from the north vs death doom from the west. 12.50 | Listen / Order Fury "Paramount" LP At the apex of Fury’s short and startling rise, from a providential birth in late 2013 through era-defining performances at America’s Hardcore fest in 2014 and 2015, the Orange County five-piece has delivered Paramount, a debut full-length album of grace, erudition, and effortless virtuosity that guarantees Fury’s induction into the tiny fraternity of epochal hardcore bands — e.g., Embrace, Unbroken, Mental — in whose sonic singularity and aesthetic intelligence the best minds of successive generations have seen themselves reflected. 15.50 | Listen / Order Robes "Unholy Moon" 7" ROBES is a four-piece band bringing their brand of classic rock inspired, post punk infused, D.I.Y. hardcore educated, psychedelia to Earth by way of Brooklyn, NY. Guitar player/vocalist Drew DeMaio, bassist/vocalist Dave Diem, drummer/BFF Jeff Gensterblum, and vocalist/guitar player Peter Bartsocas have all been in bands before, so you should really check em out in their band called ROBES, now. ROBES has a tour in the works and will be playing FEST 15 to support, “Unholy Moon”, out on Bakery Outlet Records, from the single and forthcoming full-length. 6.50 | Listen / Order Sigh One Down "Memory is Short Longing" LP Somewhere between My Bloody Valentine's Isn't Anything and Nirvana'sBleach sits Sigh Down One, a "punkgaze" or "contemplative grunge" trio from Montreal. Initially started in Vancouver with the release of the I'm You Like You're Me EP as a solo recording project of Sasha Ford, the group is now composed of a collaboration between Ford (Cascadia), Kaity Zozula (Femmemaggots, Lungbutter), and Blair Lauren (Dreamboat, The Facials). Sigh Down One cuts the wistful indulgences of shoegaze through with a relentless punk sensibility, coordinating distorted textures with lively pacing for a blissful result. 13.00 | Listen / Order Warhead "Cry of Truth" 7" Long-awaited reissue of Warhead's debut EP and easily one of the single best Japanese hardcore records of all time! 8.00 | Listen / Order Woven In "Highs and Ultra Lows" Tape WOVEN IN's gloomy “dark surf” is a paradoxical blend of post-punk and surf pop. Johnson inverts your expectations of happy-go-lucky beach party lyrics and instead explores social anxiety and unsuccessful love. The deep and droning vocals of Mariah Johnson cull a darkness... 5.50 | Listen / Order
