james
last time I was in New York, I had the best luck at Academy Records. pretty sure they have multiple locations but I found some really good stuff at the store in Williamsburg. have fun man! lbw87
Generation Records in Manhattan is always a good place to check out
hickey
Yes, Generation is great (it's on Thompson Street just off of Bleeker). There are a couple of others nearby too -- Bleeker Bob's is one it's off Bleeker on one of the numbered streets, and I believe the other one on Bleeker is Bleeker Street Records...which is a short walk from Generation. All three are great. They all have new releases and some rarities.
doomcrs04
Generation is the only worth going to. Bleeker Bob's is overpriced as shit and Bleeker Street Records has the worst staff ever.
michael
generation for punk, fat beats for hip hop. academy is pretty good too.
hobophobic
Generation hands down
eroc
Generation has a great selection...if you go into Greenpoint check out Permanent Records - it's a smaller store but they got some good indie type stuff. and they got a boat load of 99 cent cds which isn't too bad to look through. hickey
I've heard Fat Beats has gone way down hill. I haven't been there in at least 7 years.
michael
well, i was 12 7 years ago, so i dunno how it was then. but i was there about a month ago and i thought they had a good selection (albeit a little overpriced, but hip hop vinyl is always a little more expensive)
