jawbroken
Hey I'm going to Pasadena tomorrow for an Amnesty International western regional conference, and was wondering if there are any moderately good-sweet record stores nearby. We're pretty much gonna be stuck in the hotel there all weekend, so in my downtime, I'd rather go bum a record store. much thanks!

manicdogbert
Poo Bah Record Shop (on Colorado next to Guitar Center) decent stuff. i used to shop there regularly until i started buying online Penny Lane (on Colorado across the street from Pasadena City College) decent vinyl selection but they're kind of overpriced Canterbury Records (on Colorado, off the corner of Colorado and Lake) only went here a few times. they specialize in more older stuff and classical. i don't think they have vinyl but they might have stocked up Moby Disc is gone. jawbroken
i would go to amoeba, but driving isnt an option :/ thanks manicdogbert, i think our hotel is right off of colorado, so those might be perfect
manicdogbert
depending on where off colorado you're at, you can probably take the metro to Amoeba. should only take about an hour there and back each way. catch the Gold Line to Union Station in downtown L.A. then catch the Red Line to the Hollywood and Vine station in Hollywood and walk to Amoeba (it's like 3 blocks from there). you can also take the Red Line to Hollywood and Highland (the next station over from Hollywood/Vine). there's a Virgin Megastore there. jawbroken
went to canterbury, vinyl selection was pretty slim, but I did pick up the 180g repress of Replacements-Tim! I consider that a success. I wish I had more time to have gone to the others, oh well.
