As the year end lists start to roll in, I have noticed that at least a few of our releases made quite a number of Tops of 2008. Here are a few that I am really excited about:

Latest issue of Alternative Press 10 essential albums of 2008

Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground's album not only made this really great list, but they have a 2 page spread(pages 46 and 47) and on Vinyl Download's feature, the diggin 7" made their list of essential releases although they said "I've never been so proud to listen to female vocals turned up to 11". On the 10 essential albums of 2008, AP says, "The end result is an epically eclectic album that sounds more like what the Beatles would be playing today if they were still around than awhat the actual Beatles would probably play."

Punknews.org Staff Member Bryne Yancey's tops of 2008

I think that Bryne and I see eye to eye. Not only did he select Ninja Gun's Restless Rubes his top album(#1) of 2008, he put Drag the River you can't live this way as #14, Tim Barry manchester as #13, Jr. Juggernaut ghost poison as #8, and Chuck Ragan/Austin Lucas bristle ridge as #6. He also gave Useless I.D. and Only Thunder honorable mentions and the rest of his tops list are many of our own favorites. Not only that, he is looking forward to The Takers and Austin Lucas in 2009. What a great list!

Shockhound's Taco Tuesday Tops of 2008

Dan and Jay of Hot Topic / Shockhound have this really great video blog where they give Taco salutes to records and this episode finds them discussing some of their favorite records of the year. Inlcuded in the bunch are Murder by Death, The Sword, and two Suburban Home releases, Tim Barry and Ninja Gun.

Eric from CYSTS put LaGrecia on parallels #49, Austin Lucas putting the hammer down #43, Two Cow Garage speaking in cursive #21, Chuck Ragan/Austin Lucas bristle ridge #18, Ninja Gun restless rubes #9, and for his #1, he put Tim Barry's Manchester. He also mentioned that if he had another 10 to pick, he would have put Drag the River and Jr. Juggernaut on there, too.

From Jordan's top 25, Tim Barry's Manchester made #12 and on his honorable mentions, he put Two Cow Garage speaking in cursive and Jr. Juggernaut's ghost poison.
