suburbanargyle
I would bring a second carry on bag, like a totebag, that you can fit a bunch of records in. My dad actually flew out to visit me recently and did just this, carried on about 30 records from my old room in a tote bag. You may have to pay extra for a 2nd carry-on, but unless you can pack them really well in a checked bag, I would do that. I'm on the road currently and brought about 15 records to give to my friend, but I packed them in record mailers (as if I was shipping them) and then put them in my luggage, and that worked fine. scooterist136
You could always invest in a DJ case to carry your records on planes with. I did this since I frequently by records when I travel. I have one similar to this: http://www.123dj.com/cases/lpcases/procaselp.html Or this old school case for sale on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/DJS-12-RECORD-HEAVY-VINYL-CARRYING-CASE_W0QQitemZ250378657410QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116
scottheisel
I would never, ever check records, no matter how well they're packaged. If you have to check something, grab your iPod out of your carry-on then check that, and carry the records onboard. Buy a canvas tote bag/grocery bag to hold them, you'll be fine. stefan
I would never, ever check records, no matter how well they're packaged. I check records (usually 4-10 of them) all the time since the planes I usually fly on require planeside checking for most carryons. In fact I travel with a mailer just for this purpose
