casey
Who's going tomorrow night in St. Pete? Also, how are the opening bands, Heartless Bastards and A Death In The Family? I need to know how much I can skip and if I need to leave work early.

casey
not going, but the state theatre is a cool place My first show was there. Bouncing Souls in '98. I like it way better than the Masquerade (which is closed now) but not as much as the Orpheum.
xjustinxschwierx
a death in the family are amazing and will probably blow gaslight off the stage. from Australia too. I think Heartless Bastards opened the Chicago show and if they did they were boring.

I'd much rather see shows at New World even though the Orpheum sound is superior. And I'm not sure if I'm going to Gaslight yet. It'd be cool, but they're a band I could take or leave. Which side of the bay are you on?

casey
The non-existent side: Lakeland. I'm sorry to hear that. Everybody says that, but I don't mind it. I lived in Tampa for a few years and was pretty indifferent about the whole thing. I do hate having to drive an hour to a decent record store, though. Some okay bands from Lakeland if I'm not mistaken. Isn't Mouse Fire from there? Pemberly isn't bad to see live.

Mouse Fire is pretty good. Copeland and Anberlin are from here, too, but are too cool to claim it. Not that I like them anyway. I've never heard of Pemberly. There was a band called the Crayons here for a while that were pretty good. I haven't been to local shows here for a long time.

salparadise
didnt even know. wont be there, though. unfortunately. masquerade is back open as the ritz, again. nothing too interesting has been there unless you like lady gaga, jesse mccartney, or sublime cover bands.
