Anyone need a custom guitar cab?

Recommended Posts

Marshall 1960AX and TX cabs were (and are, since they've been reissued) taller than the standard 1960A size. These were made after Marshall made the 8x12s that Pete Townsend sawed in half to make 4x12 cabs.

I used to own a Matchless 8x12 cab that I purchased from the Black Crowes. When I bought it I thought it was the best thing ever. It sounded amazing, but was ridiculously sized and impossible to move around. I was glad to see it go, yet I kind of miss it.

I've been thinking about getting a 1x12 or 1x10 cab for my Carvin 2x12 combo. I want to cut the speaker so it gets some of that Kinks fuzz to it. Does anyone know how to do this, or if it works well for adding some grit to the sound. I'm sure it's not hard but I wasn't sure if there was a specific way to cut the speaker.

If you want to add some fuzz, buy a fuzz pedal. Much easier and functional than destroying a speaker.
