mrc
I never got why anyone would pay for a record that not only wasn't in the distributor's hands, but did not exist in any form at all. That's like going to your weed man's house and being like, "here's the money for an eighth, but I'm just going to stick around while you run that money to the grower's, let them buy some seeds with it, and take six months or so to get the crop tended. I realize that the plants might die or any number of people involved could fuck it up somehow, but it's totally cool because the green w/ red hairs variant is going to look siiiick." post of the year
andywax
on another note, props to bridge9 when it comes to pre-orders, those dudes always seem to have them at their own warehouse when they put the pre-orders up, normally close to the street date! That's what I like about Fat Wreck. To play devil's advocate, Fat put up the pre-order for that Tony Sly record two months before its street date. hickey
Do we know they don't have the vinyl in-hand? Ah, very true. I get what you're saying though. Plus, Fat has a great reputation. So, even if they don't have it in-hand, you know you'll get it by the release date.
john
The only thing that pisses me off about preorders is when they start 4 months before the record comes out
