scotterson
Saw the show last night in atlanta, and it was fantastic, except for the crowd. A bunch of people that wouldnt stop crowd surfing, including one girl in high heels. The group of girls behind us kept talking loudly about how there should be a height restriction at concerts (im 6'5"). And this group from gainesville/orlando were yelling "trusty chords" "hot water" and "gainesville" throughout the entire show (literally) even after being shushed by brian multiple times. Aside from that, it was the best gaslight show I've seen. My little bro got a setlist, which had 15 songs on it, but they played I think 21 not including covers. The Loved Ones were pretty good, I've seen them a few times and this was the best, but I've never been able to get into them. They finished with "Louisiana" and introduced one song as a Conor Oberst cover. Murder By Death were great; they sounded perfect and put on a good show. I only really know "Of Red Tooth and Claw", of which they played coming home, ball and chain, rumbrave, fuego, steal away, '52 ford, and spring break 1899 (by request). They also played brother, another old song i didnt recognize, and a nancy sinatra cover. Gaslight played: All of the '59 Sound and Senior and the Queen, we came to dance, 1930, angry johnny, we're getting a divorce, and red at night, plus "refugee" by tom petty, a bit of "what becomes of the broken hearted" by jimmy ruffin, and a bit of a cover that i didnt know in say i wont. I've got a bunch of pictures to go through, I'll post when I get them up.
One Hundred Fifty-Two
Went to the Chicago show at house of blues last night (thanks for the tickets virgil). The show was sold out and maybe even over sold. This was my second show of the tour and I have to say I hope I never see Murder by Death again. Here's a set list that should be pretty correct. High Lonesome Casanova, Baby! Old White Lincoln Even Cowgirls Get the Blues Boomboxes and Dictionaries The '59 Sound Film Noir Miles Davis and the Cool Señor And The Queen Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis? I'da Called You Woody, Joe [stand By Me] Angry Johnny And The Radio Great Expectations Here's Looking At You, Kid The Backseat 1930 Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts Say I Won't (Recognize) [House of the Rising Sun]

I was pretty bummed they only played 3 SOS songs Angry Johnny and the Radio, We Came to Dance, and I'da Called you Woody Joe. They did play all of Senor and the Queen though so that was great. The crowd was not too energized but I had a great time. I was also super excited about Murder by Death, my next vinyl purchase is going to be these guys. One Hundred Fifty-Two
I can't, three times in three months is a lot. I'll definitely go when they are supporting their new album.

hostutca
I went to the Columbus show (huge) thanks to you amazing people at Vinyl Collective! The show was amazing... The measure was pretty tight musically but the vocals weren't represented in the mix very well so it is kind of hard to tell how good they were overall. The loved ones were amazing as always! Dave Hause instructed everyone in the crowd who is attending college to drop out and sell drugs or start a band. However, one kid said he was in education and after the show, Dave jumped down and handed the kid his bottle of wine he had been drinking throughout the show and told him he would need it. Unfortunately the kid took a drink, and being 18 was escorted out of the show. Hause to the bottle back and told the kid to meet him around back. MBD were amazing as well... I love that band. My friend had never heard them and he was totally blown away (He thanks you too for the plus one). Not to be upstaged gaslight completely rocked the show as always. We got most of 59 sound... the whole EP the 3 aforementioned Sink or swim songs PLUS Refugee by Tom Petty. There was a Dance Party breakdown where they played some rap song and the crowd started dancing (Brian said he does it on good nights). Great Times!!! Thanks again for the tickets, it was an amazing night for sure!
kellyjanice
were you by chance wearing a vinyl collective shirt at the columbus show? I saw a person in one and wondered if they were the person that beat me out for the tickets

kellyjanice
Yeah seriously great show. The world was against my fiance and I getting to this show... I really thought we were not going to make it. I was so super bummed because we have not missed a Gaslight show in Columbus and even drove all the way to see Gaslight play in Jersey at Asbury Lanes (that by far was the best show I have ever been to and was their first ever sold out show.) Sooo glad we finally figured it all out and got there it was well worth the headache. First our daughter got pick eye and we were worried about taking her to a sitter. Then our babysitter got sick and our backup babysitter was not going to be able to make it. Eventually our back up worked it out and she came. Then when I went to print my tickets ticketmaster kept telling me there was an error processing my request. So I called ticketmaster (anyone ever called them? Their system sucks) and talked to a computer for 25 minutes not able to punch in any numbers or get to a representive. FINALLY I spoke to a representative and he sent me a PDF of my tickets. Then my printer was not working! Got the printer working and finally was able to leave. We missed the Measure which we were bummed about, but everyone we saw was totally amazing.
