ronniethebear
Okay, so when i first got a Mac, I started playing around with GarageBand doing loops and making little fun electronic songs and stuff. I just recently started messing with it again, and I thought it might be fun to do a Postal Service-type thing where we can get a song going, then send it to someone else to add things on, then tey can pass it along, etc. Would anyone else be into this? We could get a running list of participants going, then everyone can start their own song and pass it on to someone else. Who's down? ronniethebear
Haha, thanks dude. That's Dana DeArmond, "the internet's girlfriend". I met her a couple years ago in LA and we hung out.

ronniethebear
I'd be down, I just need to learn how to use garage band :-).. Give Me like a weekend No problem. If you sit down with it for a couple hours and just play with the pre-recorded loops and presets, it's pretty easy to get.
roadmonkey
If anyone wants to hear a couple of really shitty guitar recording of riffs I have worked on and managed to get somewhat recorded. http://hmsfortkickass.com/manish/riffs/

kurtmanner
What do you use for programming/sampling/looping stuff? GarageBand, yo. I guess I've never looked into it enough. I'm doing that now.
ronniethebear
I really just started doing it for fun. If you want to really get into sampling, looping, etc. there are far more advanced programs.

Yeah, I tried getting Reason via BitTorrent, but it doesn't seem to be reading certain files from the download.
benchwarmer
I wish you could bring MP3s into garageband and sort of reminx stuff, or sample parts of it.
riddle350
This is such a cool idea...too bad I don't have garage band
roadmonkey
we should prollie do this so that those without garage band can use something like acid or some other Windows based software to contribute.
ronniethebear
Well I only have a Mac, and I've never used any other software (i'm a proponent of analog recording) so I wouldn't know how to anyway. The point wasn't necessarily to be accommodating to a wider range of people, it was for people who can use GB.
roadmonkey
fine with me. Garageband people only it is
ronniethebear
We need a place to store/host the files so that others will be able to get to them easily. Does anyone have a little bit of server space they wouldn't mind sharing?
destroyingthescene
I'd be down with this monstrosity! I may have some space lying around somewhere to host it, I'll have to get back to you on that one though.
