mcm1610
Have you had it? How long ago? Where? Did you like it? How much did it cost? Any negative effects? Should I do it?

mcm1610
Yea, that's what I'm thinking, but I don't want to go in without more feedback. I have heard some people tear up a bit more, and my friend's brother's vision got worse after 2 weeks (but he spent that two weeks at the beach in the sun and swimming which you shouldn't do). I know most people are good to go afterwards though.
john
does insurance ever cover this?
drabley
"Laser" and "Eye" are two words that should never be in the same sentence. Unless maybe you're some kind of mutant ala Xmen.
mcm1610
I don't know how much it helps, but the local place (Atwal Eye Center or something like that) says: "We participate with most major insurance carriers. This includes Medicare, Independent Health, Univera, Community Blue, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Western New York, GHI, Guardian, VSP, Empire Plan, NAA and Nova. Co-payments are due at the time of service. Please check with your provider for coverage." I don't know what that coverage entails, though. I'm not that far in the process. respect21
I've always kinda wanted to get Lasik, but I don't know if I could go through with it. Eyes are far too sensitive, and the surgery isn't proven enough for me.
cosmonaut
I had it done in '06. No problems at all. I couldn't wear contacts and I hated glasses, so I went for it. No regrets.
mcm1610
I hate having to think well in advance to put contacts in for hockey, I hate glasses, I hate waking up and not being able to see, I hate having to get up to take them out if I'm falling asleep on the couch worrying about what I'll do if I'm sleeping out if I have contacts in. It's just a fuckin' hassle, not to mention the money spend on it... I just spent $304 on my eyes today, and I'll do that once a year for the rest of my life unless I get the surgery. I plan on doing it when I finally save up money again, but I'm spending my stash on skiing (the reason I needed to spend the $304 right now.. so I have contacts for skiing)
