danthemjfan23 Posted December 11, 2010 Share Posted December 11, 2010 saw them at the subterranean in chicago not too far back. i had never had the opportunity to see blake perform live before, but i'm a huge jawbreaker fan and have dozens of their old live sets (either audio or video) from over the years. obviously the music is different, but i kind of felt like i knew what to expect banter-wise from the show. it was an interesting experience, at the very least. their 7" is alright. a couple of the songs have some really neat elements, but overall it seems like they're still trying to find their place as a band/nail down exactly how they want to sound stylistically. i'm interested to hear a full length from them that would (hopefully) be more cohesive. each song individually is okay, but as a collection assembled together i think there's just something not quite right. i'd definitely say go check them out, though.
