thebiglebowski
Anyone know what attendence is usually like at Tigers games?Tampa is in town while we'll be in the city and we were thinking of going to a game. Just wondering if we need to get tickets in advance or if we can wait until the day of. If you want to see a weekend game, buy in advance. If you want to see a weekday game, you should be good. It also depends on whether the fairweather fans are showing up or not because the tigers are winning. Worst case, you can usually buy them off the street around the stadium. steventangent
I@stevetangent- your avatar pic is awesome. i hope they save the sign and leave it where it is. I guess it's going to South Dakota. Bummer! Totally stoked for this show. I guess I'll see some of you turds there! Now I gotta figure out what to do in the hour between People's closing and doors opening for the show. It's gonna be a stupid long day. I guess Dave Hause is playing in the Garden Bowl afterward, but I doubt I'll stick around for that. I like the first Loved Ones EP and album, and I think everything he's done since that has been awful (no offense, I know a lot of people here love him). I hear he's kind of a douchebag, too, but this is not based on first hand experience. edit: I just checked out every other band that is playing. I knew I had heard Fireworks before and didn't like them, but I just listened again. Yep, not my thing. Same with Hostage Calm and Make Do And Mend. Maybe that will change upon seeing them live, but other than that, I guess it's gonna be a loooooooong night.
seamoney
I won a meet-and-greet with HWM for the show tonight. Pointless, but it gets me in for free! See you guys there.
steventangent
Okay, I'm going to contradict myself here and say I stayed for most of Dave Hause's set and really enjoyed it. Especially when he played old songs. So, "crime," if that is your real name...Did you hit Detroit up or not? What did you end up checking out? Did you have a nice stay in the Paris of the midwest? Errbody else...did you have a good time? I actually enjoyed seeing Fireworks live, but on record...not for me.
bgdesign
The Stick is a cool venue. Bowling and a show, you can't beat it. Tiger's game is a must. Get cheap seats and go to the Tiger's Den. $40 for all you can eat buffet (with coney bar, prime rib etc) and your seats are box level with a glass window by first base home run pole (AWESOME VIEW!). GreekTown is a must and you can walk there from Comerica Park. Wish I could have made the show.

Got to Detroit a bit later than we expected on Monday so we didn't really have much time to do anything before the show. Checked into the hotel (Greektown Casino) then grabbed some diner at some bbq place that was right up the street. It was okay but nothing special. The majestic is an amazing venue. The people of Detroit should feel really lucky to have a venue like that. I wish we had something like that in Detroit. The show was amazing. Hostage Calm kinda sucked. Make Do And Mend were amazing. I found Fireworks really boring live. I hadn't seen them in about 5 years or so so I was a bit shocked because they used to be great live. HWM were awesome as always. It was nice to see them in such a small venue. The rooftop patio is tits too. Stuck around for a couple songs from Dave Hause but we ended up leaving because I was really drunk and wanted to fight some douche who's dirty greasy hair kept on dripping on me during HWM. And then was nice enough to just shove me out of the way when they were setting up for Dave Hause. He could have easily just asked me to move but he thought he was the king shit or something. Anyways ... didn't feel like getting arrested in a different country so we left. Tuesday grabbed breakfast at Bistro 555 in the hotel. It was pretty good. Then went to the casino for abit. Then took the people mover around the city. Stopped at Joe Louis then got of around Comerica walked around Comerica and Ford Field. The secuirty guard at Ford Field was nice enough to let us just wonder around the stadium. Did a lot of wondering around the city but there really isn't much down there. Went to the tigers game Tuesday night. then headed homeon Wednesday. It was a lot of fun.

Paid $96 (for 2 tickets) to sit 12 rows behind the dugout. Those seats are like almost $100 each in Toronto.
