kirbypuckett
I'm planning on buying some 'higher' end speakers for my computer. I'm not sure if I should go 2.0 or 2.1 though. Any thoughts? They'll mainly be for listening to music, not really much gaming. Maybe some Youtube videos of cats. Basically, do I really NEED to own a subwoofer? I'm debating between these two sets: 2.0: http://www.theaudioinsider.com/product_info.php?p=swan-m200mkii&products_id=184 2.1: http://www.theaudioinsider.com/product_info.php?products_id=167 The volume dongle on the 2.1s kinda bugs me, I like that the 2.0s have the volume on the speakers. steviex2shoes
In one of the reviews of the M50W there's a guy that says he got both the M50w and the M200Mkii and he said that they're both great but he prefers the M200Mkii. I think if it were me I'd probably stick with the M200's I dont think a subwoofer is absolutely necessary.
slinch
Man, that is a killer price for the M200. If you don't need a LOT of bass, sound quality-wise the M200's are definitely the better choice.
kirbypuckett
Thanks guys. I've been reading a bunch of reviews today and the M200's look like the way to go. I have some old speakers now and regardless these will probably sound 100x better.
Guest
2.1 is only good if you listen to really bass heavy music, or like to feel the vibrations on the floor. I'd go with 2.0.
