danthemjfan23
alright guys and gals, here's the scoop: my buddies in Devon Kay & the Solutions need a little help raising some funds for the recording costs of the split 7" (with The Ambulance Review!) i'm going to be putting out of theirs in the spring, so they launched a kickstarter. 1 day in and they're already 15% of the way to their small goal of $300. be a peach and help 'em out, won't you? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/dkands/charity-ball-for-tba if you wanna become obsessed with a new band, check out DK&TS's last release by streaming it on their bandcamp. http://devonkayandthesolutions.bandcamp.com/album/never-punt the physical copies (CDs) came out on Johann's Face Records, and are pretty limited. if you want one, there's a plethora of rewards on the kickstarter page where you can grab a copy for a few bucks. thanks for your help, and check out my label's facebook page for updates: www.facebook.com/artisticintegrityrecords

danthemjfan23
thank you guys so much! this project is well on its way to getting backed! devon (the guitar player/lead singer) is actually in a few bands. one of them is called The Fur Coats, where he plays bass/sings, and Marc Ruvulo plays guitar/sings. they have a FREE benefit show tonight for the homeless. it's at Cole's Bar in chicago, which means it's 21+, and it starts at 9 pm. i think the Fur Coats will go on at about 10 pm. if you're in the area and are looking for something fun to do, come on down and say hi! danthemjfan23
thanks dude! yeah, DK&TS were pumped to reach their goal so quickly. i guess that's what happens when you aim low, though! A!A!A is gonna be up against it. they're raised 59% of their goal in 43% of the time allotted. hoping that the few days after christmas/new year when people have a little extra cash in hand will give a nice bump to the total. paul, were you at the DK&TS show this past sunday at pancho's? A!A!A has a couple shows coming up, too! 1/8 at pancho's 1/11 at treasure town 2/10 at a DIY spot called Clint Eastwood
One Hundred Fifty-Two
No, I haven't seen Devon Kay. The next two shows I'm going to are Dr. Manhattan @ Sideouts Bar and ALK3 @ Durty Nellies
danthemjfan23
i'll be at the durty nellie's show! i plan on having a bunch of copies of the mike/dan split there to give to dan so he can sell them. not sure if he'll make them available that night, or the next night at metro (i don't see why he wouldn't sell them if he has them in hand, but who knows), so maybe bring some extra cayshe. devon kay's next show is January 22 at beat kitchen!
