justaminrthreat
Recently I wanted to play some music from my computer, and when I started the album iTunes said the original file couldn't be found. It happened with other albums, and I noticed all the albums giving me problems are ones that I got from download codes that came with the vinyl release...with the exception of Austin Lucas "The Common Cold"...which was up for free download on the Magic Bullet site for quite a while. It's not a certain label or anything...just everything I downloaded legitimately doesn't work. Most of them are albums I got over a year or two ago, and they played fine until a couple months ago when I first noticed this. It's just weird. The illegal downloads play fine. Something's backwards here. What the fuck? Anyone had this happen? I have a Mac. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.
bigbruise
If they can't be found then you have to locate them. Where are they stored, have you moved them?
faith
Yeah this has nothing to do with the specific album but all to do with iTunes's library. You probably moved the file or something.
justaminrthreat
I haven't moved anything as far as I know. I guess I'll look around. Thanks.
AlexH.
Look in your preferences. Are those two checkboxes checked? If they're not, iTunes is still looking for your files in whatever folder you downloaded them to. If you did some cleaning or reorganizing recently, it gets confused because the music isn't where you left it last. If they are, well, I don't know. Maybe your library file is fucked up. Check your iTunes folder ([user]/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music on Mac, I'm guessing it's similar on Windows) and see if the missing albums are still in there.
