finally picked up a new CD player/DAC

grabbed one of these for $200 + a decent chunk off with ebay bucks.. anyone have one of these? the reviews i read sounded all pretty good for what i was looking for.

a couple reasons actually.. in this case where its going theres very limited real estate because i have two turn tables set up so i can check test presses on a lower end (an old numark table with a $20 preamp) and a higher end table (project carbon with a higher end preamp).. and i had a small 4 space rack that will fit under one of the tables so this works out nicely.. and i can add a drawer for the external usb harddrive.

 

and two.. i still ocassionaly run sound at diy shows/house parties... and my stupid band can always utilized an easier way to run backing tracks onstage.

 

so overall for my purposes this fit both needs and came in somewhat cheaper than some of the other options i was looking into

Cool! I personally have very limited experience with pro audio gear that isn't linked to cinemas. But seems like it's a player that is exactly what you needed.
