sherlock
Dude, I feel bad for you guys collecting this band. Eulogy's planning a "deluxe" release of the album. When will it end? http://www.punknews.org/article/28638
dante3000
Seriously, maybe I'm a dick but this album is not that good to warrant a zillion pressings and a deluxe edition. It's certainly not bad but it's not that good.

sherlock
I concur. This album was good. Not great. I have one copy of it, because that's all I need.

kirbypuckett
ZOMG! There's a deluxe version of RAR? I'm sure there's a better comparison that could have been made than RAR.
magalvsr13
i collect set your goals, im probably done with collecting mutiny the only reason this is getting so many pressings is that eulogy has realized that set your goals is their cash cow....theyve taken the vinyl pressing rights back from double or nothing who handled it well and are going to press this as long as it makes them money...........and then they give none of it to the band... magalvsr13
Haha. Jon's (magavlsr13) is going to be pissed! haha, ill probably only pick it up if the band is carrying it on tour
chaps
labels ->company to make money -> no one buys cds anymore ??? -> press vinyl on a billion colors = ca$h . I'll buy it, its fun.
landmanmj
it sucks isnt the point of having a label to make money? if you are broke you cant sign bands or release new stuff and if set your goals makes them money so they can stay in business and hopefully put out more good music then more power to them i say. magalvsr13
youre missing the problem i collect set your goals, im probably done with collecting mutinythe only reason this is getting so many pressings is that eulogy has realized that set your goals is their cash cow....theyve taken the vinyl pressing rights back from double or nothing who handled it well and are going to press this as long as it makes them money...........and then they give none of it to the band... thats the problem
landmanmj
well thats an age old problem, but its not like mainstream where shitty bands are getting rich off shitty music. if bands are looking to make money hardcore and punk usually isnt the avenue to travel with some exceptions
magalvsr13
no one said they were gonna get rich doing what they do, but how would you like it if you went to get your paycheck on friday (however small it might be) and your boss told you that instead you were in debt to the company and had to pay him? chaps
I was not aware that they didn't give any of the money to the band. . . It makes since the label would have hooked them up with a ton of copies to sell on tour and make money off of, but I'm not sure of that. But I think its awesome that labels are figuring out a way to make money of of hardcore and punk, as well as other good styles of music again. Cd's haven't been selling, so we have been flooded by this mass of sub par myspace music. I think labels releasing more vinyl (on tons of colors) is not only fun but is sort of an equalizer in preventing the death of the music industry. . my 2c
landmanmj
im not saying you are wrong bands definitely get the short end of the stick but once someone else has the rights to your songs what are you going to do
googlemyass
band sucks they cant come up with new material so they have to release an unessecery deluxe edition only 2 years after original release with shitty demos. milk it for all its got i suppose. magalvsr13
band sucksthey cant come up with new material so they have to release an unessecery deluxe edition only 2 years after original release with shitty demos. milk it for all its got i suppose. 1. band has new material, working on getting it released but theyre having problems with the label 2. band has nothing to do with this
motorbike
i hate it that people just dont get that sometimes bands cant release new material until their label lets them fill their contract, thats what the deluxe edition is about. see: thursday and creedance clearwater revival. point the finger at eulogy, not syg. landmanmj
what did the size of my paycheck have to do with the point it just seems like you through that in there to be a smart ass
magalvsr13
not your paycheck you said that bands shouldnt get in hardcore/punk whatever for the money i said that they should still get what they earn, no matter how small it might be simple enough for you? landmanmj
i never siad you were wrong or disagreed with what you were saying i was just looking at it from the labels point of view as to why it was necessary do issue a deluxe edition cd
scratchzilla
at first i though this was a thread encouraging a mutiny against the next pressing of RAR. how silly of me.
