arkhamgk reacted to morfiend in PO: Skinny Puppy + related projects
I'm sure we have a handful of Skinny Puppy fans who would be into these. I know I've been waiting for a Doubting Thomas press for quite some time.
Doubting Thomas - The Infidel
Originally released on the seminal Wax Trax! label, the Doubting Thomas sessions were recorded in between sessions for VIVIsectVI and Rabies, by Cevin Key and Dwayne Goettel (Skinny Puppy) and also featured the talents of Tom Ellard (Severed Heads). This incredible triple-vinyl reissue is fully authorized by Cevin Key and includes the entire Infidel album remastered, plus the Father Don't Cry EP.
Doubting Thomas started as a collaboration between Key and Goettel, when tracks that didn't fit for Skinny Puppy were collected and stored for later use. By 1990, the two had enough material for an EP, and Wax Trax! released the now-classic and essential Father Don't Cry on 12" vinyl. Later in 1991, Wax Trax! released the full-length The Infidel, which to date has never been issued on vinyl. An anniversary edition on CD came out on Key's own Subsconscious imprint in the mid-2000s, but a vinyl version remained elusive, until now that is.
Toronto-based Artoffact Records is proud to announce a definitive triple-vinyl edition of The Infidel, complete with Father Don't Cry, and packaged in an out-of-this-world triple gatefold sleeve, with restored artwork and remastered audio. Available on black, green, and a collectors' edition pressed on split black/white vinyl.

Cyberaktif - Tenebrae Vision
A beautiful double-LP vinyl reissue collecting the complete works of Cevin Key and Bill Leeb project Cyberaktif.
In 1990, Bill Leeb of Front Line Assembly, as well as cEvin Key and Dwayne R. Goettel of Skinny Puppy joined forces to record one of the most iconic releases in the industrial genre: Cyberaktif! Artoffact Records presents a remastered 2LP vinyl edition of Tenebrae Vision, including both the Temper and Nothing Stays singles, and a rare bonus cut of Nothing Stays, edited by Beatbox Inc.
The double LP is housed in an amazing gatefold sleeve with artwork restored. The audio is fully remastered (sounds AMAZING) and let's not forget that two tracks feature Blixa Bargeld from Einstürzende Neubauten! An epic reissue for an epic masterpiece.

arkhamgk got a reaction from Mourning Wood in PO: Voyag3r - Doom Fortress (FFO: Death Waltz Records)
Preorder is up for Voyag3r's new full length, they are a pretty cool synth heavy instrumental band. I though some people here might be into this. The gold version is limited to 100 and is only $15 plus shipping.
http://bellyacherecords.com/store/records/voyag3r-doom-fortress/
Doom Fortress is the debut full length album from Detroit’s Voyag3r (pronounced Voyager Three). Voyag3r are a synth based instrumental rock band that draws inspiration from sci-fi, horror, action soundtrack music from the 70′s & 80′s. Voyag3r have set out to create dynamic, epic, moody and atmospheric sounds intended to inspire. This experimental rock sound is like a movie-less score or the soundtrack to a far away mysterious journey. Voyag3r forge their sound with a multitude of analog synthesizers, acoustic drums and electric guitar.
Doom Fortress was recorded using vintage analog synths, electric guitar through vintage tube amplification and maple shell acoustic drums. All music was recorded to 2″ analog tape (MCI JH-24 2″ Analog 24-Track w/ALIII remote) through various vintage pre-amps and a 1977 Custom Harrison 3232 console for maximum authenticity and spirit in capturing this classic sound.

Yes. You don't need weed. That's what all people who don't smoke weed say. But if you do smoke weed, you'll understand. You don't need to be stoned to enjoy stoner rock but there's a reason it's called stoner rock. You don't need to eat mushrooms before listening to Sleep's Dopesmoker with headphones on at full volume but then you also don't feel like you're floating in a bubble with Jesus surfing sonic waves of pure riffage that make you feel as if the two hemispheres of your brain are slowly being separated by the vibrations. You may HEAR the train coming at you in Boris' Amplifer Worship while sober but it feels like it's gonna run you the fuck over when listening to that shit while stoned out of your god damn gourd.
You guys are right you don't NEED drugs to enjoy this music but there's a reason terms like "acid rock" and "stoner rock" exist and there's definitely a reason for bands like Spacemen 3 to make an album called Taking Drugs To Make Music To Take Drugs To.
