My copy came in the mail this morning in a proper cardboard mailer, but still very loose, got a busted corner but the record is fine.

Holy shit. I had the pleasure of seeing them when I was on tour last month and they are honestly the only band I have ever watched where my jaw was just sinking into the floor the entire time. They were incredible and so insanely tight. I had trouble digesting what I was seeing.

 

How has Mogwai not been mentioned yet?

Yeah I've seen them live a few times and they fucking own.  Are you talking about the brooklyn show in that shady bar? because that was a fantastic gig / night out.

'Hannibal Montana' are some very awesome dudes from around new york area who make tight instrumental shit.  

Also once when I saw strung out, something happened to jason mid set and they did about 5 songs instrumental and it was so awesome, I wish they would record something.

I dont have casadaga, I bought the cd when it first came out, i remember ti had one of those astral viewers, is it the same on the lp? I bet it's awesome.

^ i did that with my bright eyes - cassadaga, put the big logo sticker from the cellophane on the outside of the polybag.

 

it was a risky procedure, but i'm glad i did it. it looks great.

I've done it with a tonne of records, I like keeping those things together, I even keep price tag stickers in some cases.

my cursive is complete with the exception of the bad sects remixes, and the ugly organ singles.

I didn't even think about a bar code since half of the records I own don't have one.  Maybe I have a press copy or something like that.

Yeah, it's super interesting either way. You should have kept that sticker on or transferred it onto a poly sleeve or something.

Interesting, perhaps the printed those jackets before they had realised they couldn't get all ten tracks on? Wierd. Either way at least now u have a ten track lp and cover and an eight track lp and cover.

This stuff with the jackets confuses me so much.  The tracklist printed on the jacket of my first press copy is:

 

SIDE A. five, eight and ten. gloria. slower. dolorosa. SIDE B. 80-37. if i could. july. silver. take the picture now. parking lot.

 

There was a sticker stuck to the shrink wrap when I got mine that had the eight-song tracklist (which is now on my guitar case, and is a nice talking point with other Mineral fans).

 

I don't have my CD copy here, but I don't think it has "Side A" and "Side B" in tracklist.

 

So it doesn't seem like they just reused the original jackets, unless there were two different jackets used in the first pressing, but that makes it double weird if the second press has the first press tracklist on the jackets but all ten songs on the record.

So the og press has all ten tracks listed on the jacket? haha wtf.

yeah, I only went off the tracklist on the back. I played the first song on each side to check out the quality since my record room gets unbearably cold this time of year and i'd rather dip out and listen to music on my computer until it warms up.

though now i'm curious.. do yo uguys think that since it has all 10 songs on it that this might be a digital master?

Yeah possibly, I was thinking it would be cut from the same masters as the first press, which is why i was assuming it only had eight tracks. Bu the quality was good when you listened?

No its not. I got my record today and it has all 10 tracks on it. the cover still only lists 8 tracks though.

haha yeah , i read that just now, just the first person who received it I asked them and they said they weren't there. So stoked that they actually are. Less stoked that I still haven't got my copy.

Wow! at this thread. I wonder how many people bought this for the actual music? Can't have been too many because the price was ridiculous to start. Plus when so many people want something so bad, it's such a turn off. If i'd bought one i'd probably give it away.

Opposite for me. AFS was much nicer. I went with TC because of the supposed better sound quality.

I can see how people would like it, but to me the different little details just don't go with the bands aesthetic.
