my records were being propped against the wall in the corner of my room, and I discovered a weird heat leak coming from that corner one day - there were no vents near by or other signs that would have otherwise tipped me off. I promptly relocated them to a safer location, but not before the record that was closest to the wall got damaged. :/ I still don't have a box or proper place for them though.

I dunno, i just think it'd be fun to try, and since the record is already unplayable i might as well try it. the worst that could happen is that it continues to be unplayable, right?

"Sophomore slump or comeback of the year" ... I could see this album going either way, easily. I sometimes have mixed feelings about TSSF now just because of how over played USAD got for me and how fast they blew up, but still, I have high hopes for it. I've been supporting TSSF and going to their shows since before "while you were sleeping" came out, so they'll always have a little place in my heart.

does anyone know if the record being a 7 inch would make a difference?? i don't know much about heat/science/physics but it would seem logical that less surface area would equate to less energy required to un-warp it...

Forgive me if this is a dumb topic, but I've only just recently started to collect vinyl (I got my first record player for christmas this year) and I've already had the misfortune of accidentally warping one of my 7 inches - my 2nd pressing of The World is a Beautiful Place...'s Formlessness EP. I already ordered another copy of if from Topshelf (4th pressing this time), so I'm not too worried about it, but I would like to get my original one back to a playable state if possible. I've googled around and learned about "sandwiching" the record and putting it in the oven/sun baking it and what not, but I was mostly just wondering if anyone here has had any personal experience in un-warping records, and if it's worth trying to fix?

Gonna have to drive 45 minutes tomorrow morning to pick it up, but I've got a copy with my name on it waiting for me! glad i don't have to deal with the stress of this online nonsense any longer.

Really wishing i wasn't too broke for the hardcover boxset with both records right now. after hearing the leak of Descension today I feel like I've got to pick it up on vinyl, and it looks like my broke ass will have to settle for the turquoise disc.

Lately, I've been jamming Turnstile like nobody's business. I can't wait to hear what they have in store for their upcoming release, based on some live footage of a new song it looks like it's gonna be just as catchy as their last 7-inch. Check it: I also just recently got turned on to Rude Awakening, after playing a show with them (which Soul Search and Minus played as well). Also, has anyone listened to the new Soul Search yet?? they really took the whole "entombed-core"/old-school death metal influenced sound to the next level and it fucking goes. I love it.

My girlfriend called all our local hot topics today looking for it and the only one that had it (santa clara, i believe) sold out already... Oh well, still following the relentless email notifications from this thread to hopefully get on the web sale in time to grab a copy. I'm also checking the hot topic website periodically, I'll make a post here if I somehow get to it before the rest of this thread does. I just want the anticipation to be over ;-;

This makes me so anxious. why couldn't they just announce a street date?! I guess I'm going to call my local hot topic tomorrow and see if they have it already...
