  1. So, this is prolly gonna be the first time for me lining up super early (I absolutely need that Pinback repress!) - do most people really go there the night before, or will I still have a chance if I show up at 5 am? I was thinking of going to Streetlight in San Jose, since they told me they've got 5 copies of the record I want, but the record store closest to me doesn't know what they have (rasputin in concord - edit, actually pleasant hill but w.e). Any bay area natives have any experience in these stores and might know if rasputin will get the one I want and if streetlight in SJ will be super busy??
  2. I just received my Slipknot record from VintageVinyl. I have no complaints on their behalf, but unfortunately the pressing doesn't sound very good. The tracks on the ends of the sides sound pretty distorted and fuzzy (Before I Forget suffers the most).
  3. Did anyone pick up an extra Pinback record? I got one, but my friend didn't, and I felt bad.
  4. Got myself a white copy, although I would have preferred pink if it was the most exclusive color, but oh well, not a big deal. Stoked to own this record, one of my all time favorite albums!
  5. I don't think Late Registration sounds that bad. But my purple Graduation bootleg sounds terrible, side 3 skips all over the first few tracks, and side 2 has a lot of surface noise and pops.
  6. Has anyone managed to get ahold of that acoustic bonus disc yet? I checked my local independent record store for it the other day, but they didn't have it. I can't get enough of this album and I really wanna hear those tracks!
  7. I would do immoral things to get any of these on vinyl if they existed. I also back pokemon OST vinyl, but I doubt it would ever happen.
  8. Just got my Graduation on purple and it's beautiful, but sides B, C and D have a lot of popping and skipping on them. Sides B and D are tolerable, but the first 2 tracks on side C are pretty much unlistenable. I just emailed them, and I'm hoping they can get me a better playing copy, cause it sounds like this issue is pretty common and they've been helping others out.
  9. I've gained some weight and these shirts don't really fit me now, so I'm putting them up here before I toss em. All shirts are $10 shipped and are size M, except for the this time next year shirt which is a small. Prices are negotiable, especially if you want more than one. Some of the white t-shirts have a light rust stain on the inside of the collar from a necklace I used to wear, but it shouldn't show while being worn. These are very used and most of them are at least 3+ years old, so I've listed any imperfections the shirts might have under the photos (along with what brand the shirts are printed on, because people seem to care about that a lot). \ from left to right, top to bottom: Smaaaash (Earthbound, SNES) shirt from Fangamer.net on american apparel- cracked print, 2 light grease stains on front (visible in photo) Punch on Fruit of the loom This Time Next Year "big trouble in little china" rip, on fruit of the loom (i fucking love this shirt) - size small Thrice shirt on gildan (pretty sure this shirt is at least 8 years old? but it's in good shape) 1994! shirt on gildan (back has a broken VHS tape with square of opposition logo) Calculator smiths rip off, on gildan (they did a horrible job screen printing this one -- it's always looked like that, also has a small stain by the collar) Man Overboard "Rare" shirt (backprint features a crowd shot with lyrics from the song "Rare"), on Gildan Grown Ups cat shirt, on anvil - this shirt is more of a slim fit (and has a tiny hole in the front, not really visible ever) PM with any concerns or questions, thanks for looking!
  10. I know Gospel is still available from Banquet records, but I'm located in the US and it comes to about $30 with shipping from the UK, which is a little more than I was looking to spend on it if someone else here can possibly help me with a better deal. I don't care which variants on either, I just want to listen to them! thanks!
  11. So I had emailed topshelf a while ago about getting a playable copy after my clear w/ blue+green splatter came warped, expecting a second pressing (which I would have been stoked on), but I was astounded when my replacement arrived and was in fact the same, sold out, /200 variant that I had ordered in the first place! And I thought I couldn't possibly love topshelf more!
  12. Just got my clear with blue splatter finally, but of course it arrived horribly warped. I already sent an email to topshelf about it, but seeing as how they're so swamped right now and probably won't reply to my email for a while, has anyone else here had any experience with receiving damaged records from them? will they send me a playable copy of the record or just a refund?
  13. PM'd, keeping my fingers crossed! white pony is definitely a record I would love to own on vinyl! Thank you Secular Haze for this awesome selflessness!
  14. I forgot about this release until this got bumped, but I couldn't be more stoked on this record. I've been backing this band since day one (i still have the demo cassette i got from a house show they played in 2010) and I've got no intentions of stopping now (or ever).
  15. Slept in and missed the watermelon, oh well. Should have listened to their facebook yesterday when they said to be up early!! Ordered the purple/white though because I still like the color (although not as much)... Thought about ordering the 180 gram one just so I could maybe trade it for a watermelon one later, but that would just be silly. I'm pretty excited about this album, I felt like the new song stuck to their signature style without sounding stale, and although i didn't pay too close attention to the lyrics, they didn't come off as overbearingly 'FUCK U BITCH I'M MOVING ON' as all the lyrics on USAD, so that's also a plus.
  16. Bumped because I'm having the same issue with my Audio Technica AT-LP60. based on a little research it sounds like I'd need to replace the whole cartridge on it, since there's no way to calibrate this turn table?? :/ It's my first record player and I've only had it for a month so i'm not really about to replace the whole cartridge but if that's all I can do without having to get a whole new system then I might have to.
  17. just because I don't know much about vinyl doesn't mean I'm an ignorant person?? I sense a lot of immaturity and elitism on this forum, which is upsetting because it is an interesting community. I joined because I am very excited about getting into vinyl and I know I have a lot of dumb questions, but now not sure if I want to stick around. :/
  18. I was googling for info on the Fall Out Boy FUTCT repressing and ended up here.
