  1. Got Surfer Blood - Pythons Warped. Yay. But I really do like the album a lot. Now I just have to wait two weeks before I can listen to it on vinyl.
  2. Completely agree. And while I have never had any regret upon receiving a SRC order, I'm not gonna lie and say it doesn't hurt to spend roughly $30+ after shipping. But yes, they have a solid track record for putting out quality presses. And yeah Hot Cash is another story. Like you, I can see why they had to make changes. But those changes still sucked considering the whole reason I ever receive Hot Cash is by buying vinyl and yet I cannot turn around and use it towards that same product?? I do want to be able to listen to high quality sound, I just also know that had it not been for this release I would not have this on vinyl at all. This buy was not for 'scene points' I may not have been buying vinyl for the past ten years, but I have 300+ from three years of buying. So I know all about the frustration of getting a so so release. I agree with you that high quality sound is paramount, but I just cannot honestly listen to my copy and feel angry. To be honest with you I might share your frustrations when my excitement of finally having this album on vinyl fades away. But for now I've got no negative feelings towards an album I have always wanted in this format. I'd rather enjoy finally having it in my hands (because I missed out on even the maroon press like a dumb @$$ lol) then making myself hate it. BUT again, your frustration is justified. I just have a different mentality towards it, which leads me to the next post I want to quote. Sorry everyone for the long post haha. All things aside, I'm actually happy to have other people to 'argue' with about this stuff. I've been a lone collector within my crowd for the past three years so I usually keep my collecting business to myself. I have always turned to the boards for info on releases and I didn't decide to actually post until recently, so this whole thing has been fun. (non sarcastic) Maybe I got the one copy that had no problems?
  3. I do agree that they could've corrected the issues of the first press. And as far as the prices, two years ago it would've been steep but I'm just happy to see a repress I want actually retail under $25 nowadays. Record prices are getting ridiculous! (I'm lookin at you SRC)
  4. PS - no disrespect to those I quoted. It just seems like you guys really want people to find this record as horrible as you found it. Honestly, I just reread it and see how it may come off as rude. Not my intention. I just feel as though sometimes people really want to hammer something that isn't as horrible as it really is. I haven't said it doesn't have its issues, to me it just doesn't sound completely horrible.
  5. Did you find the official tracklist somewhere??
  6. Good for you. Good for you. I'm sorry that while you are desperate for a copy there are so many people on here who are taking theirs for granted and complaining about minor sound issues.
  7. Nope. Ok so parts of me could agree with you and say it doesn't have the superior sound that most vinyl has, but at the same time I disagree with those making this seem like it is horrible sounding. Pretty much this quote sums it up. It doesn't sound bad, but it sounds equivalent to what you would hear on your iPod. Does your iPod sound horrible? No. Does it sound better then what a top notch vinyl sounds like? No. But does that mean that the vinyl sounds horrible just because it is on par with what comes out of your iPod? No, no, and no. Before anyone starts bashin on me, I get that vinyl is supposed to sound better then your iPod and I completely agree. I just think it's unfair to make it out to seem like this sounds like a piece of sh*t. And I'm glad I didn't let when everyone was saying scare me out of picking this up. It could've sounded a bit better but by no means is it that bad. The packaging is good, the price was fair, and it's an album I really do love. All in all, I'm happy with it. Thanks Travis for making it happen!
  8. Got this in the mail today, warped. I'm pretty pissed because I got it from Amazon and they are out of stock for three weeks so I can't even get a replacement. Other then that, this album is better then what I was expecting. Squeezing Blood is so good.
  9. Seriously the sound on these isn't that bad. Anyone hesitating to order because of this reason, don't. It may not be the absolute best record you will ever hear, but I have definitely heard worse sounding vinyl. Don't hesitate, buy it, it's a great album and you'll be happy you did. I love my copy!
  10. That article is kinda lame. I'm a huge Kanye fan and while I agree with some points the writer makes, it just feels as though he was trying too hard.
  11. Past week: Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism Portugal the Man - Evil Friends Fall Out Boy - From Under the Cork Tree
  12. Haha I was just going through the earlier posts and was laughing at how far that all went. And yes the thread is still going. The only people left on here are the few who missed out on the maroon pressing I think. I feel like a loser who showed up late to the party...
  13. Nope, my local Hot Topic got them in yesterday and put em out today. You should check your Hot Topic, both of the stores where I live got them in yesterday and today. Good luck!
  14. Darn haha I'm just finishing up side B so I guess there's still a chance of running into that problem :/
  15. Just got home from picking up the coke bottle variant from Hot Topic. Looks nice and sound good to me so far. I missed out on the maroon copy so I don't know what kind of sound issues there were, but like I said, so far this one sounds pretty alright!
  16. Damn, I still remember actually having the rainbow splatter pressing in my cart on the Paper and Plastic webstore for $12. BUt of course stupid me thought they'd be up for a while so I didn't place the order. How do I think I feel about that decision now?
  17. Yeah mine is labeled as 'Coke Bottle Clear' Either way it doesn't matter, what matters is the music. I just hope I can snag a copy of FUTCT this time around, I can't believe how fast the last pressing went.
  18. What coke bottle color was the TTTYG vinyl? I have yet to open my copy. Is it similar to this one? I'm kinda hoping they are different colors.
  19. Everything I have heard (especially that song with Owl City) sounds terrible. Never thought they'd go this route. Oh well, at least they gave us several other good albums that we can always turn back too!
