  1. Meh, I don't buy that being the reason. They just know a bunch of people will happily pay $20-$25 so that's what they are charging. As much shit as RJ got for MTS (which he deserved) he did at least put together really nice looking, high quality 2xLP packages when he charged $25 a pop. Hot Topic is charging nearly the same for high run, single LP's in cheap/standard packaging.

People will pay it so that'll be the price :/ and if hot topic continues to put music I enjoy on vinyl I'll be one of them.

The only HT repress I own is the "Under the Cork Tree" teal my girlfriend bought for me, and it's really nice but towards the center of the records the sound gets a tad muddy. It's a nice 2xlp gatefold but idk what she paid for it. I like it overall.

I did get a copy of ADTRs WSMFY from a store in a cheap single sleeve but it was $13 and the press was the quietest I own. A pleasure to listen to. Pick your battles. -shrug-

  2. With a possible Riot repress should I sell my 1st press white now. Hmmmmmmm

Sell it before the news gets out! $100!

I've pretty much come to terms with the fact that i'm going to not be able to afford to keep up with this hobby for much longer :(

I've never been able to afford it, and I'm planning a pretty elaborate setup upgrade ;) Slowly but surely! Do what you love best you can.

  3. I'm very let down by the album because it's not their best work at all, at least to me. WSMFY holds that crown. I'm still playing it all the time, but it feels really unmemorable to me, and stuttery: goes from an incredibly heavy track right into an acoustic, and back again. There's like 2 songs with no screaming, then 4 acoustic songs, and then 3 songs with nothing but screaming. What?

That's what I loved about Homesick and What Separates Me: Each song had a perfect fusing of the genres in it, and were all really catchy. I don't like the "Right back at it again" theme because I feel like its kind of lame.

Tough to say for me. I'll keep playing it though.

  4. If you're not comfortable buying/trading with me based on one single piece of negative feedback on eBay (which btw, there's more of a story behind it than what the buyer said but in the end he filed the claim before I could ship the item) then by all means, don't. I've sold a lot more than 7 items but not everyone leaves feedback and eBay only shows the last 30 or 60 days of history in terms of how many items you've sold. I can't control that. We're talking about selling/trading records here, there isn't exactly a goldmine of money exchanging hands here to entice someone to commit fraud, which is a prosecutable crime.

Ultimately, I'm not here to rip anyone off. I collect records as a hobby and that includes trading/selling. If you don't want to buy/trade with me, you don't have to but you don't have to downgrade my posts and be condescending.

Negative feedback is one thing, filing a claim is another. It sucks that your feedback isn't what you'd like or think it should be but that's what people base their credibility on. If someone makes a trade or sale with you just be sure to see it goes through well and get your positive feedback to make it easier in the future.
