This seems pretty fantastic. Hoping to make it all the way through tonight. Thanks for posting this.

Anybody have any issues with the red variant of II? I picked one up at the Pittsburgh show and it has really strange muffling on two tracks of the B side and it simply is almost breaking my heart. The first, is throughout Friendly Advice. It shuffles my stylus around like the record is really warped.. but it doesn't seem to be warped at all. It spins quite flat. The second, is somewhere in the middle of Petite Mort and is very minor. Maybe I got a roughly pressed copy? I don't know. It is simply just a bummer. Such a very pleasing album though.

Bump for topic change/original post edit. Help me own more good musics!

Yeah that's pretty steep. I mean, I have money set aside for this record but regardless $140 is a ton for wax.

I spoke with Kevin at the miracle show about the prices these go for and he is not happy that any of his fans would have to pay these crazy prices for anything. He told me that we will find a way to get all of his oop albums back out again at some point but right now the new albums are priority. I say have patients and dont pay $150 for something you will be able to buy at some point for regular price.
I appreciate the info, Seth. That's good to know but I definitely want the first pressing. KD is #1 in my book and this album is my favorite of his. I'm not necessarily aiming to pay $150. I haven't seen one on collectors frenzy go for quite that but I know what you're saying. I'm looking for someone who no longer enjoys the album/would like someone who would enjoy it to have their spin (get it!?)/needs money to come along and take a fair and worthwhile offer for it. Not necessarily looking to be price gauged or to lowball. Being a big fan, I really just really want to have this record.

Bump! Latin decided not to let go of his copy.
Are you unhappy with your tax return? Well let me give you some of mine in exchange for this LP!

I'd be frustrated if they pushed it back another time, despite being excited to own it. The original date was January 7th, it's pretty unprofessional to keep pushing it back.
I agree, it'd be frustrating. Who knows what problems they ran into though. Would it make sense that making it available to other retailers like soundstagedirect and Amazon would push the date back? It seemed like it was available for preorder on Amazon right about the time it got pushed back the first time. Just a random observation...

I have the black copy its out of 200 I think. i could get rid of it for the right price.
Picking on the new kid for asking for a hard to find record? Haha. I'm only aware of (and can only find info for) the Orange/White pressing out of 500. Do you have a link with any information about it and/or proof? I see you have just the Orange/White listed on your deadformat.

Pre-ordered this from AinR a few weeks before it sold out. I wouldn't necessarily be surprised if it was pushed back again (a third time?). Regardless, really pumped to own these records; especially The Photo Album.

Is Kickstarter like Indiegogo, where if they don't meet their goal all the money gets refunded? If that's the case it makes sense even if he actually surpassed it within a day. Still, that does suck.
This is, indeed, the case. So glad he got funded so graciously. Excited for these releases and the tour. The e-mail today was such a pleasant surprise. Seriously, such a great dude.

That's awesome! Here's the link for anyone interested.. http://www.cylsrecords.com/kind-of-like-spitting-joins-the-count-your-lucky-stars-family/
Now they just need to re-issue Bridges Worth Burning so I can get my hands on that gem too.

Just bought one on eBay for 32ppd (buy it now) a few days ago. My best advice is to be proactive and check daily and/or make "kind of like spitting (in records)" a saved search. eBay will email you when new auctions appear under the saved search. Good luck.

Did a google search for Kind of Like Spitting vinyl and it brought me to a post on this forum.
Anyone have 2.5 hours to spare?

I'm about 75 minutes in and this really is fascinating to me. I do have a bit of a sound engineering background and a strong appreciation for the process that the creation that a song/album goes through from an idea and words and notes to the end result but I really feel like if you can sit through this and really take it in, you will truly be better off for it. These guys might come off a bit snobbish but dammit do they know what they are talking about.
One of the topics that has been addressed that really hits home to me is how music is taken in today. It really is a shame that most of the listening of music today does come in such a setting that doesn't allow for a strong emotional and deep connection to be made to the actual music. That's just the state of society today though. We've got full days everyday and lots to do; it's great that we can go through our days with our music. Getting back to the idea of having a connection with the music.. I feel that lyrics can have a strong effect on you regardless of the quality of the audio or the setting, to a degree, that it's taken in at but I feel that the music really needs to be taken in in a way that you can kind of eliminate as many of the other senses as possible to fully appreciate and have the music truly speak to you. I know, for me.. lights off, minimal possible distractions, quality headphones, eyes closed and being relatively still really sets me up for a really enriching, personal experience with the music.
They go on to talk about a few other topics in some depth, and its really great to hear all of their separate views on each of them, but this is what I felt compelled to write while continuing to listen.
Regardless of my opinion on any of this, thanks again for making it available on VC with this thread.
Edit: Yeah, made it through its entirety. Very awesome. Definitely recommend it when you've got the time to actually pay attention to it.
