  1. I'm looking to get rid of my copy, if you still want it. It's a little beat up, I found it at a thrift store, but I've listened all the way through and it plays just fine. Send me a message if you're interested.

That's one hell of a thrift store find. All I ever find are exercise albums and old classic rock LPs that looks as if they were once baking sheets.

  2. For the people who have noticed that some records are warped: Is this something that is only visible once the record is on the platter? Or is the warping obvious enough to see when just simply holding the record?

I didn't realize until it was on the platter because I didn't check beforehand but yes, the warping on my Stability EP is easily noticeable when holding the record. I'm surprised that the needle doesn't jump.

  3. #30, finally received. so happy, i've gotten through most of the set and it sounds fucking awesome. besides the mislabels, i've got the black lines and dinged edges too. also, looks like the back covers of each album aren't actually printed on the jacket, but are sheets of paper stuck on. maybe this is a mistake that held up production? ALSO, Transatlanticism isn't 45rpm as advertised. so that stuff kinda sucks... but the boxset is still awesome.

Didn't even notice the backs until you mentioned this. Hearing "sheets of paper stuck on" makes it sound cheap but they look great.

  4. I haven't found it to be quite this easy. The eraser is a no go however as it also kinda removes the sheen from the surface of the cover. I'll keep trying to get it off with thumb and fingernail. After I get it off, I'm putting these in sleeves because the inside of the dividers are still sticky so this will continue to happen without some kind of intervention.

Hmm, sorry that you're having trouble with it. I emptied the contents of the outer sleeve and gave my thumb a very small lick and rubbed moderately - slightly vigorously and it came off after about 7 seconds max. Maybe your sleeves were placed in their still-wet slots a bit earlier than others? Regardless, hope you find a way to clean them up.

  5. if there are collectors hardcore enough to collect one of 1500 misprints, they probably bought the box in the first place. I doubt they'll be worth more than the regular editions, especially since they'll presumably not have covers.

    Good points.

Just opened mine and I'm digging this box. Sturdy and threaded. Has a nice, clean look. This is a beauty.

I just starting spinning and I'm loving the quality of The Photo Album so far although there was a pop in the early-ish middle of the first track of side A (which is labeled Forbidden Love EP).

  6. Pretty cool of Ben to recognize the problem and post about it. Really didn't have to.

My set arrived today and I'm on my way home from work to check it out. Really pumped again.

Concerning selling the mislabeled albums... I think I'm gonna hold on to these for awhile. Wouldn't it make sense that they'd be "worth" more than the correct versions? I'm not looking to make a profit on these or anything, just thinking these are a bit more of a collectors item now since they are mislabeled and are no longer a burden since they're being remanufactured correctly? I'd have to think that this already being a limited release would possibly hamper that though? I don't know. Useless, speculatory rambling here.

Can't wait to spin The Photo Album!
