I want to send out some promo copies of our latest releases to stations playing punk records. And I was thinking about how its a huge waste to randomly find college radio stations, that seemingly play good music and start sending out packages. And I'm not going to pay hundreds of dollars for some other persons contacts... so I was thinking about another approach. Maybe we could get a list going on here of good underground radio stations & radio shows that play records. I think it could be a healthy resource for all the people on here that do labels. here are 4 in New Jersey that I know play good music. The Core, Rutgers, New Brunswick: http://www.thecore.fm/public/index.php WBRB, Princeton: http://www.wprb.com/ WRSU, Rutgers, New Brunswick: http://wrsu.rutgers.edu/index.php WSOU, Seton Hall: http://www.wsou.net/ anyone else know any good ones playing punk/indie/hardcore records?

Hey everyone the new Devildance band The Sirs is releasing their new e.p. entitled She Gets Me High. They kind of sound like some combination of The Buzzcocks and Jay Reatard... We are streaming 3 of the 4 songs on the Devildance Myspace. www.myspace.com/devildancerecordz Physical copies go on sale May 1st, on sale at Itunes now. I'd love to hear some feedback on this! 100 trans gold 900 black oh yeah, and it looks like this...

this is so true... I can't think of a NJ band that hits home so hard for me. Just copped one of these from the Pyschic Volt dudes. The new mix sounds cleaner. Not sure if it's just the age of my other one... but its great to have a fresh copy of this. "they say trust the art. not the artist. now do you see how small your part is. make you feel better? fucking tears me apart. no responsibility and no heart. no wait i've made a mistake. still believe? damn straight." -sticks and stones

Holy fuck! it's been forever. We got some exciting releases lining up for 2010 including a split 7" with YOUR FAVORITE TRAINWRECK. If you haven't heard these dudes yet... it's Jeff Caudill from the band Gameface and Popeye from the band Farside. Needless to say im siked to have 2 Revelation Records legends do a record on our label. Here's the tennative release schedule JANUARY/FEBRUARY: THE SIRS "she gets me high" 7" The Sirs are a relatively new punk rock band from New Brunswick, N.J. Taking influences from across the punk rock landscape. Mix up a melting pot variation of The Buzzcocks, The Misfits, Hellbender, and Jay Reatard... and you might have an idea of what these fellas sound like. shits good. Hopefully pre-orders will start in January. In the meantime though I think Virgil still has a few copies of their debut 7" on Psychic Volt records. http://www.myspace.com/thesirsnj FEBRUARY/MARCH: YOUR FAVORITE TRAINWRECK / REDLIGHT COMMUNICATION SPLIT 7" California supergroup Your Favorite Trainwreck, which features Popeye of the band Farside and Jeff Caudill from the band Gameface (if you have never heard these dudes I reccomend checking out their myspace page immediately... as... they are just completely awesome). and New Brunswick's own Communication Redlight which features ex-members of Delft and The Low End Theory. Its looking like an early March release... we are so stoked on this one! Jeff Caudill is also doing the cover design. We're hoping to start pre-orders in early February. In the meantime check out our blog for the rough cover art. http://www.myspace.com/yourfavoritetrainwreck http://www.myspace.com/communicationredlight IN OTHER NEWS... the gaslight sink or swim demos is almost out of print again. I just sent Virgil the last batch that are going out to distro. the are about 100 of these left at my house and thats about it. also, considering the complete abandonment of myspace coupled with the fact that we haven't updated our website in like a year I started a little blog for updates and all that nonsense. Feel free to link us up or whatever. Here's the address... http://talkinboutwillis.wordpress.com/

(limited to 250) a/b side orange and green its like hypercolor t-shitrs! (limited to 250) -
i think major labels are proving once again how NOT to do things, and are totally misunderstanding the vinyl buying public. i mean you might pay 20 bucks for an incredible looking baroness record thats a double, etchings on four sides. limited as hell. or a boris lp with a die cut book cover... and the people at sony might think "hey we can do that too" only theyre going to slap a plain old layout on it, maybe make it 180 gram and try to get it off for as much as they can. im sure major labels are pressing these records in at least the 10s of thousands too, which makes their overhead basically peanuts, as opposed to the small labels that are paying 4 bucks cost per piece. also i can stand how every major label record has to have a deluxe version that costs fucking 200 dollars. in all fairness though... i do think that some of the re-issue labels like light in the attic and sundazed are putting out some real nice reissues of rare records. id gladly pay 20 bucks for those. but you know like is it really necessary to re-issue "frampton comes alive" and sell it for 20 bucks? i challenge you to find a dollar bin anywhere that doesnt have that record in it.

you know what... i definitely wouldn't say i collect these things per se. but as a long time appreciator of screen printing and just design in general i usually pick these up when i see em reasonably priced. i dont have anything as sick as some of those baroness prints... dude does some sick illustration. but heres a couple i have that i haven't seen up here... coco that sunn print is the shit. got this one for free when they played my house last year. got this on that tour. i think they are limited to like 50
