  2. Eroding Winds newsletter November 17th, 2016 Yup, it's that time of the year where everyone is running sales. Last year we did it the day after Christmas, but with our new retail shop and Black Friday in-store sales looming over us, we wanted to allow our mail-order customers to get a jump on our massive amount of inventory at a nice price before it gets wiped out over Black Friday weekend. And remember, there is always free shipping on U.S. orders over $100, no coupon code required. I. 22% DISCOUNT STORE-WIDE WITH CODE THROUGH SUNDAY 11/20 II. GLOAM - HEX OF NINE HEADS 2LP PRE-ORDER STATUS III. NEW ARRIVALS & RESTOCKS I. 22% DISCOUNT STORE-WIDE WITH CODE THROUGH SUNDAY 11/20 Yup, here it is. Big ol store-wide sale time. The only exclusions are Gilead Media titles released in 2016. Everything else is fair game, roughly 1200 titles. That includes about 300ish items that we already discounted. Get to it using discount code INFERNALSALES. This discount is valid for webstore purchases ONLY. Physical storefront customers will get plenty of good deals during Black Friday weekend sales. Order now at www.erodingwinds.com II. GLOAM - HEX OF NINE HEADS 2LP PRE-ORDER STATUS A quick update here. Vinyl and jackets are complete and on the way here from the plant. We expect everything to arrive early next week, and we will be shipping out all pre-orders before the end of next week. Keep your eyes peeled for your ship notification next week, and thank you for your patience. III. NEW ARRIVALS & RESTOCKS As usual, we added a ton of new stuff to the store over the past week or two. Here's the status on the Krallice - Ygg huur LP: The pressing plant had a breakdown on one of their 180 gram presses, which set everything back a couple weeks. Unfortunately during this breakdown there were still a few jobs ahead of the Krallice records in the plant's production queue. But I was told on Tuesday this last week that the records are complete, and will be shipping to me from the plant on Monday the 28th. I'm hoping they will be here by the end of the coming week, and we will begin shipping all pre-orders immediately. Vinyl, you know? 20 new t-shirts To coincide with the Eroding Prices sale we printed 20-some new t-shirts for the store, and restocked a bunch as well. The cool thing on the re-stocked designs, though, is that everything is now being printed with water-based discharge ink, so the print on the shirt is incredibly soft. Now those 15" tall front prints won't feel like a layer of plastic against your skin. The other thing we decided to try this time around is offering you folks the option to choose which garment style you'd prefer when ordering. You can choose between a Next Level Apparel garment, which is lightweight, soft, and slim fitting, or the 100% cotton, 5.4 oz Gildan t-shirt, which has a standard fit and feel. There are a couple exception to this where the band may have a specific preference for the t-shirts. But in most cases you get to choose. Here's what we loaded up on for new stuff, get em here: http://www.erodingwinds.com/product-category/wearables/shirts/ Get these shirts now on your choice of garment, lightweight & slim fitting or standard weight and fit: http://www.erodingwinds.com/product-category/wearables/shirts/ That should do it for this week, or rather, this year. I might send out a little reminder about the sale on Monday if I have the time. If it's needed. But this is it for updates. You know, you had a long year. And you just got done dealing with all this holiday jazz. Treat yourself. I probably won't run another sale until this time next year. Don't miss out. - Adam // Eroding Winds

  6. The band is getting 18 copies, although I'm unsure how many of those will hit the merch table. It's up to them.
  7. Yeah I was none too happy about the site traffic issues. The sudden spike made the server crap the bed. Everyone that completed a Nebula order will be getting their copies. Everyone except me haha.
  8. Maybe email me your new address or a work address just to be safe.
  9. As summer flies by over here at Gilead Media HQ we are preparing for our deluge of year-end releases. The Kowloon Walled City LP and Dead To A Dying World CD/2LP are both at the plant and will be ready for an October 16th release date (although DTADW vinyl will come a bit after that), and the Fórn 12" EP and their split 7" with Yautja will both be coming in November alongside the new Yellow Eyes LP and Krallice LP (announcement below). Then, In January, we will be presenting the new Vhol LP and the debut LP from Lake Of Violet, which contains current members of Locrian, Kwaidan, and Sun Splitter, and the ex-drummer of Minsk. Great stuff. But preparations for all these great records are definitely keeping us consumed. Despite how busy it's been behind the curtains, I've been trying to take time to step away personally and make sure I relax a bit. Two weeks ago I went kayaking on the Oconomowoc River with one of my oldest friends, Jason. It was a long day of paddling, considering it was my first time on the water for the year, but it was well worth it. The view was beautiful and the weather was perfect. This last weekend I got out on the water locally with my Dad. It was quite windy, which made for some exciting paddling. There were times when we were rising and dropping at least three feet in between surges of waves. Not bad for his first kayaking experience! There's no good reason I shouldn't be kayaking almost every weekend at this point. It's easily my favorite free-time activity and there are rivers and lakes everywhere around Oshkosh. And if the weather this last week in Wisconsin did anything, it reminded me that fall is just a month away. And although the colder months are my favorite, the available days to get on the water are counting down quickly. I hope you guys have been making the most of your summers. Today's newsletter is a pretty quick one, but make sure you sign up for the Eroding Winds newsletter at the link below. Gilead Media newsletters will remain monthly, but the Eroding Winds ones are going to begin going out soon, and probably on a bi-monthly basis. I. Krallice - Ygg huur LP announcement + Years Past Matter 2LP repress II. Kowloon Walled City new LP cover + title announced III. Eroding Winds new arrivals + newsletter signup IV. False, Pale Chalice + more in stock at Debemur Morti Productions V. Oshkosh Area Humane Society yearly fundraiser I. KRALLICE - YGG HUUR LP ANNOUNCEMENT + YEARS PAST MATTER 2LP REPRESS At the end of June Krallice unleashed their new album, Ygg huur, upon an ensuspecting audience via their bandcamp page. I was lucky enough to see them perform the new album in entirety during their July 27th show at the Acheron while on a brief trip to NYC. The new material continues to astound me. On the new album Krallice stride further from the black metal influence that they founded the band upon, and bring to the forefront many of their own personal and technical styles. The result definitely still feels very Krallice, but is a clear and definite new path for them. The vinyl edition of Ygg huur will be released as a single LP in a thick jacket with a printed inner sleeve. It will be available to pre-order sometime in November. In the mean time, you can check out the record over at the Krallice bandcamp page, hit it: https://krallice.bandcamp.com/album/ygg-huur Also, the repress of the previous Krallice album, Years Past Matter, just arrived from the plant today. The re-press order was placed in March, so I'm relieved they're finally here. 200 copies, all 180 gram black vinyl (identical to the first pressing), shipping now from Eroding Winds: http://www.erodingwinds.com/product/krallice-years-past-matter-2lp-repress/ II. KOWLOON WALLED CITY - GRIEVANCES COVER ART REVEALED If there is one thing that's tough about running a label, it's keeping stuff under wraps, and this Kowloon Walled City LP has been one of the toughest, without a doubt. Their last LP, Container Ships, was one of my favorite records of the last 15 years, so the level of excitement around here is through the roof. Many of you know how much I love sharing info about the process, teasing the cover art, teasing when I receive rough mixes or final masters of the audio. Well, for this one, I haven't been able to do that. And it's been driving me nuts! But now we're here, it's coming soon. Track premieres will be coming down the line shortly via the CD label, Neurot Recordings. And it's time to start sharing. Below I've included the official artwork + album title release info from Earsplit PR. The record will be called Grievances, the artwork rips, and it will be presented as a gatefoled LP with download code included. Here's the official word: KOWLOON WALLED CITY will release their long-awaited new full-length this Fall. Grievances, their third album and first for Neurot Recordings and Gilead Media, finds the San Francisco band at its artistic peak, having moved even further away from its sludgy, post-hardcore origins and toward a sparser, sadder, yet still de-tuned heaviness. This shift began with 2012's critically successful Container Ships, which Lambgoat described as, "spacious," and, "mildly hypnotic," with a, "Shellac-like use of dead time and instrumentation," and The Obelisk called, "cerebral in approach." On Grievances, the band takes these elements to even greater extremes. The strings rattle. The guitars crackle and blister. The notes ring out, at turns bleak and beautiful - sometimes both at once. "We dug into this expansive, less distorted vibe. The songs are mostly slow and bummed out but we still want them to push, to have energy," said vocalist/guitarist Scott Evans. Evans, together with guitarist Jon Howell, bassist Ian Miller, and drummer Jeff Fagundes spent over two years working on the seven songs for Grievances. The intense editing process weeded out about two albums' worth of material. Howell's unusual chord changes and discordant aesthetic channel Unwound and Slint. Miller's gritty bass adds a surprising layer of depth and melody, while Fagundes' drums resonate in what sounds like an impossibly large room. Evans' shouted vocals are raw with frustration and disappointment, but without the veneer of macho aggression. "We're not interested in doing something that's good enough - we want to do something that we believe is good," said Miller. "With Scott's concept and sonics and Jon's playing and our rhythm section, we feel like should be able to do something interesting. But it's hard work." The concept of work forms the thematic foundation of the entire record, from the cover art to the title and the lyrics. Whereas previous KOWLOON WALLED CITY releases were largely inspired by the band's hometown of San Francisco, Grievances focuses its attention on our complex relationships with work and the power our employment - and employers - have over us. As with KOWLOON WALLED CITY's previous releases, Evans recorded and mixed, starting in Sharkbite Studios and finishing in his own Antisleep Audio, both in Oakland. "We're not a fancy band. There are no effects to speak of, no reverb, no delays," said Evans. "We each play one guitar, one pedal, one amp. So there's not much to hide behind. I try to respect that in our recording process and our recordings." Grievances Track Listing: 1. Your Best Years 2. Grievances 3. Backlit 4. The Grift 5. White Walls 6. True Believer 7. Daughters And Sons KOWLOON WALLED CITY formed in 2007 and has released an EP, Turk Street (Wordclock, 2008), and two full-length albums, Gambling On The Richter Scale (Perpetual Motion Machine, 2009) and Container Ships (Brutal Panda, 2012), as well as two splits. Among the bands it has shared stages with are Neurosis, Tragedy, Sleep, Thou, Coliseum, Zozobra, Fight Amp, Roomrunner, The Body, and Helms Alee. Grievances will be released worldwide on October 9th, 2015 on Neurot Recordings, with vinyl on Gilead Media. OSHKOSH AREA HUMANE SOCIETY YEARLY FUNDRAISER As many of you already know, my companion Cari works at the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, our local animal shelter. She has made animal welfare the primary focus in her professional life, going above and beyond to connect animals with their forever homes. We have fostered well over a hundred little buddies ourselves (oftentimes those that require special care and attention), and we've adopted many companion animals from the shelter ourselves. The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is a certified non-profit, and spends roughly $90,000 annually on medical expenses for the animals. This is the time of year where the Shelter looks to raise a good portion of that medical budget through donations. OAHS is a Life Saving Shelter, where every adoptable animal is given a chance to find a home. They never euthanize for space. Their mission is to inspire responsible pet ownership and kindness towards all living things. They advocate for animals in need while promoting the human animal bond. If you have some spare dollars burning a hole in your pocket, please head on over to Cari's First Giving page to donate now. Every little bit helps more than you can ever know. I'm at the Shelter nearly every day. Animal welfare is a part of our lives. And through her work at the Shelter, Cari has been an important part of the lives of thousands of animals and their people. Her passion and dedication inspires me daily. Please help if you can: https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/cari-tetzlaff/walk-for-the-animals-2015 I'll have a lot of info for you on the upcoming releases in a couple weeks. Stay tuned, folks. 10. Hello everyone. I am quite pleased to finally make pre-orders available for the new albums from False and Pale Chalice. These are two black metal records that travel down very different paths, but I feel are a very fitting pair to release side by side. I'm very proud to have them as part of the Gilead Media family of releases, so I hope you're as excited to get these as I am. You can also hear one song from each record on the pre-order pages, links below. At long last, we have the new album from the Minneapolis black metal project, False. After an Untitled EP in 2011, and a split LP with Barghest in 2012, they now return with their first proper full-length album, once again an untitled release. Throughout the sixty-minute run time of the album, False dive deeper into the realm of visceral and relentless black metal for which they've become well-known. Their live sound and ferocity is finally captured here, revealing a whole new depth and darkness that has only been hinted at on previous recordings. This album is far from a simple exercise in listening, and more akin to a journey to be experienced. The works contained therein are incredibly bleak and emotionally powerful, with a long lasting impact. ORDER NOW / LISTEN TO "HEDGECRAFT": http://www.gileadmedia.net/releasedirectory/relic58-false-untitled-cd2lp/ Gilead Media is incredibly proud to present the first full-length from San Francisco black metal band Pale Chalice, entitled Negate the Infinite and Miraculous. It has been four years since the release of their 2011 debut EP (Afflicting The Dichotomy Of Trepid Creation, released by The Flenser), which left an undeniable mark on the USBM scene. The level of anticipation for new material has been considerable. Now, that long wait has finally come to an end. Negate the Infinite and Miraculous is not simply the next stage in the evolution of a musical project. It's a leap forward into a realm that surpasses all expectation, revealing a progression in musicianship that is awe-inspiring. As recurring themes tie together the musical narrative of the album, they're made even more powerful by the cryptic lyrics and scathing voice of Ephemeral Domignostika (also of Mastery, Pandiscordian Necrogenesis.) The production quality of Negate the Infinite and Miraculous serves its compositions perfectly. Atmosphere without being atmospheric, grit and grime without losing precision. A subtle sense of chaos without losing the coherence of the overall piece. It all meshes together to form a record that feels as though it passed into our world from another dimension entirely. A cosmic work of great despair. The album was recorded and mixed by Zack Ohren in San Francisco and mastered by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recording. The LP will be presented in a single pocket jacket with insert and download code included. 225 copies on black vinyl, 225 copies on clear w/black smoke. 11. Yes! It's finally November! This month and the last are easily my favorite time of the year. Just incredible around Wisconsin, and I love the cold. The header image this week is courtesy of my Mom, who knows how much I love Halloween... and also knows how stressed & busy I've been. So she carved a pumpkin the day before Halloween for me to put on my porch this year. Thanks, Mom! Yeah, I know Halloween was a week ago, but it's still harvest time and I refuse to take pumpkins off the porch until they rot and melt, or are destroyed by neighborhood children. Lots of good stuff here this time around. Good news all over the place and lots of great records to jam on. Dig in deep, my friends. I. Alraune pre-orders shipped II. New Gilead Media releases for Winter 2015 III. In the studio: False IV. Large distro update V. HammerHeart Brewing Company's Winterblot Festival I. ALRAUNE PRE-ORDERS SHIPPED At long last, here we are. The Alraune records are finally done and all pre-orders have shipped. I'm caught up on general mailorder through 10/23 right now, and will be packing up all other pending orders this evening. Thanks so much to everyone that waited so patiently. You guys are the best. I hope you enjoy some of the bonus goodies I included in all packages. Not many copies remain, the last of them are available to order now at the Gilead Media online store: http://www.gileadmedia.net/store. II. NEW GILEAD MEDIA RELEASES FOR WINTER 2015 Now that everything is settled with all of the 2014 Gilead Media titles I finally feel comfortable releasing some information regarding the next batch of releases I'll be working on for early 2015. RELIC59 - Implodes - Reverser 12" I first came to know of Chicago's Implodes when my old pal and founding member Matt Jencik sent me a link to check out their demo a few years ago. The dense forest of fuzz, reverb, and delay in which they reside is was something I was immediately super into, and it's been great to watch them evolve as a band through their two full-length releases with Kranky, Black Earth in 2011 and Recurring Dream in 2013. Now, in 2015, I'm honored to finally be able to work with Matt (live bassist for Slint and Papa M), Ken Camden (two solo albums on Kranky), Emily Elhaj (of Angel Olsen's band and also of Mayor Daley), and Justin Rathell (of Chicago band El Mejor), to release a new EP containing two unreleased tracks from their Recurring Dream session and two newly recorded tracks. Implodes weave through that lush fuzz forest with a river of somber rhythm, carrying subtle melodies along the way for the listener to latch onto. Simply put, this is rock music, but it's rock that is rooted deeply in the worlds of drone and ambient. Reverser will be presented as a 33 rpm 12" with a download code included. Limited to 375 copies on various vinyl colors. Details forthcoming. Projected release date: January, 2015. RELIC63 - Generation of Vipers - Coffin Wisdom LP It's hard to believe three years have passed since the release of Howl & Filth, Generation of Vipers' prior full-length. It's an album that has only managed to improve with age, and I find myself more into it with every listen. So, naturally, when the opportunity was presented for Gilead Media to work alongside GoV and long-time friends Translation Loss to present a vinyl edition of their new album in North America, brilliantly titled Coffin Wisdom, I didn't hesitate for a single moment. For all the love and affection I have for their last effort, I still wasn't prepared for the impact of Coffin Wisdom. Engineered by bassist Travis Kammeyer and mixed by Andrew Schneider at Translator Audio in Brooklyn, NY, these seven new tracks display a focusing of power. Harnessing influence, maturing as a creative force, and crafting their most fully realized works thus far. Generation of Vipers define a musical amalgam. A bit of metal and a dash of hardcore blended with hefty dollop of noise-rock. It's obvious there has been a focus placed on developing a real tone in their sound, and it's pushed right to the forefront riff after riff. Coffin Wisdom is thick, and it's a total sonic assault. Coffin Wisdom will be presented as a 33 rpm LP with expanded artwork, released under license from Translation Loss records, the label that released the CD in October. Pressing info to be determined. Projected release date: February, 2015. A few weeks later I saw Vendetta was releasing a vinyl edition of their debut LP, The Departure of Consciousness, so I snagged some copies for the store and was totally floored. The Departure of Consciousness is an enthralling debut. Throughout the album, the listener navigates despondent atmospherics met with completely apocalyptic riffage and scathing vocals. This is an album of bleak and blistering works laced with somber melodies. Now, many of you that've been following the label for a while know I rarely release a CD, but I was so taken by this album that I felt like I needed to work with these guys in any way possible. The Departure of Consciousness will be presented as a single disc in a mini-gatefold LP style jacket, with artwork by Bryan Proteau and limited to a quantity yet to be determined. Every copy will include a screen-printed patch. Projected release date: January, 2015. Listen to the full album online now here: https://forn.bandcamp.com/ Purchase the vinyl edition now here: http://www.gileadmedia.net/distrodirectory/forn-the-departure-of-consciousness-lp/ III. IN THE STUDIO: FALSE In the middle of October I took the five hour drive up to Signaturetone Recording in the Twin Cities of Minnesota to spend time with False while they began tracking their first full-length album. Set for a Summer 2015 release, this new record will run roughly sixty minutes long over four sides of vinyl, with a potential CD format release as well. Believe me when I say the this album will be worth the wait, indeed. III. LARGE DISTRO UPDATE I do this to myself every month, I let the new arrivals stack up until I'm totally overwhelmed, and then blast them all into the store at once. Well, at least it makes for awesome e-mail updates like this one! Go jam out on some records. It's the end of the week, you've once again made it through to Friday. Congratulations, treat yourself.
