  1. I thought this ending was incredible.  There was no better way to end this.

    Things I loved the most:

    - Jax moving to a blue bike, instead of a black bike, indicating his run with evil was finished

    - Jax following the same path his father did, stating, "I know why you did it," his father did kill himself, as a means of trying to pull Jax away from that life; however, because of Clay, it was too late

    - "Come Join the Murder" playing in the end.  I don't care what anyone says, those montages have been more beautiful than time consuming

    - The final scene in which Jax places his hands up and smiles

I don't care how manly you are, if you've been following this "family" for years and didn't tear up you might be lacking a soul.

    Well said

  2. It seems to be the 4th pressing according to discogs: "4th press - "car on fire" black and white glued sleeve. Black borders around the front cover and Dr. Strange Records logo added to the back. Black vinyl"

Awesome.  Unfortunately I'm trying to help a friend track down a copy on translucent blue and white.

  3. Instagram in fact. Dr Strange Records bought a large collection that included a ton of Converge and Integrity pieces and the clear with shards was apart of it. I called up several hours after they posted they bought this collection on the off chance they still had it... and they did. Gave me a good deal on it too.

Also, it showed up yesterday. I came.

Nice score.  Bill from Dr. Strange is a good dude.  Glad he too care of you.

  4. Ill give it a real shot

    White Whale

    -Bigwig-S/T 7 inch

I don't think one has ever been sold on discogs

Just out of my price range

-Less Than Jake-Losing Streak Picture Disc

i've said enough about this album

-Queens Of The Stone Age-Songs For The Deaf

    a non bootleg version

    -Swans- The Great Annihilator

    this is close to happening...

    -Blind Melon-Soup

no reason for this not to be repressed along with the S/T MOV

    -Butthole Sufers-Independent Worm Saloon

really not that expensive but i can't justify paying 60 for it.

Someone where between an expensive album and a white whale

    -Face To Face-Big Choice

blue promo, comes up for a sale a few times a year

I'd definitely call BC a white whale.  I took me a few years to find a copy, even with cash in hand.  I've seen two copies pop up for sale this calendar year and both went for 250 plus.

  5. I love:

The Glasshouse Record Store - Pomona, CA - Sometimes they can be a bit pricey, but I've found some fairly rare and out-of-print sealed LPs in the bins before. They carry a decent stock of all kinda of stuff. The wall-hangers are fairly cool usually, too. The Glasshouse venue is attached, and this is a great time-killer when waiting for a show.

Puke N Vomit/Radiation Records - Fullerton, CA - Overflowing with punk records. Bootlegs galore. Basically anything punk you'd want is here. They carry a lot of shirts, too, which I believe they print in-house.

Rhino Records (Claremont) and The Mad Platter (Riverside) are basically the same store, except Rhino has more books/equipment/weird stuff. Good variety, lots of bargain bins, carry a lot of new releases AND give out free tickets to local shows with the purchase of a new release pretty regularly.

Dr. Strange - Alta Loma, CA - Old school punk super-store. While Radiation is a giant mess, this place is very organized and clean. Doc has his own label and release all kinds of cool/weird stuff, and carries a lot of smaller, local labels.

Zoinks! Records - Pomona, CA - A hole in the wall literally around the corner from Glasshouse. A good chunk of emo, pop punk, and post-hardcore releases among rap and country records. They also sell vintage audio equipment. Some of their stuff has been sitting a while, and I've found long out of print records there before.

I second Dr. Strange Records.  Bill is great and so is the selection of rare punk music.

  7. I bought the "trifecta pass". I was only going to go two of the shows, but it ended up being about $6.00 more for the pass, so why not.

It should be a good time. I've seen a few shows @ 'the Observatory", I believe capacity is about 550-600. In fact i'm going up there tom. night to catch HotH2OMusic, Dave Hause, & The Flatliners.

Anyways, jtcohenour: if there's any special merch or what not, I can probably pick something up.?

I bet they are not very far off from selling out considering the capacity you mentioned.  In terms of merch, I saw some of the design for new t-shirts they are going to be selling, they look awesome.  I'd love to have one of those or I may try to talk someone out of the special poster you get for buying the trifecta pass.

  8. i do, too.  i just saw against me! play in a tiny room and it was AWESOME.  what i meant was the canyon club is kind of a weird venue (here is a calendar of upcoming events, so you get an idea...  http://www.canyonclub.net/html/schedule.html) and it's a place with a capacity of 1500 but there were only maybe like 100 people there, if that?  i think the shows in OC will be better because there is probably a larger group of F2F fans in the area and its surrounding area who will totally get behind and sing along to all the songs on any of the 3 albums being played as opposed to just 100 people who don't yet know the words to the new album and are therefore just tapping their toes until "disconnected" is played.  haha.

That makes perfect sense.  A large venue with a minuscule amount of people does not lend itself to being intimate.  I think they will pack the house on these shows with the fact that they are playing their most popular albums.  Also, they have some surprises in store that will be amazing.  I know as of last weekend that had already sold around 1000 tickets.

  9. thanks SO much SS! i love saddle creek so this is pretty great. I actually haven't heard any of this stuff, so i'm excited to check it out. i do love me some LOST and I was actually a philosophy minor in college so you nailed that one too haha.

my guess is jtcohenour since you're from nebraska!?!?

    thanks a bunch dude!! :)

    Guilty as charged!

I was hoping you'd like the records, etc.  The guys at Saddle Creek were amazing.  I actually brought your dead format list in with me and they helped me pick stuff out.  I'm more of a punk guy so I'm not real familiar with many of the artists you listen to.  I was a big Lost fan as well and thought the book was cool.  I hope you enjoy everything and have a great x-mas.

  10. ya, i think all 3 nights would be great to go to, but i can't afford it (hello property tax, xmas and all the other shows i'm going to lately), let alone get my folks to watch my kid 3 nights in a row right after xmas so i picked the night of the album i love the most.

it is indeed nice living in southern CA.  i got to see them play in agoura hills, which is really close to where i grew up, in some local venue a little bit ago when laugh now laugh later came out, so that was cool.

That show for LNLL sounds like it was amazing.
