I'll probably get this...

Yes!!! And they're including "is that a threat or a promise"!!! So rad! I am beyond stoked! Ordered.
-
None taken. Especially since, by your own reasoning, two minutes is not enough time to properly evaluate an entire score, but you just decided to drop $40 on it.
Haha! Ironic! But my reasoning, which could be faulty, is based upon liking almost everything Zimmer has done in the past and more specifically the Man of Steel soundtrack which he is continuing on with by doing the Superman themes on this. That gives me lots of confidence for this soundtrack. I haven't actually preordered either as I'm hoping to get it cheaper, which I realize might not happen and so when it comes time for it to come out, I may have to pay $40...

New trailer is legit! I've dreamed about seeing Batman and Superman being on the big screen together ever since Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns...I'm stoked for this. I'm not too worried about the trailer music at all. i feel like 2 minutes is not enough time to make a lousy and generic analysis or not. No offense to whip as we all have our equally valid opinions. definitely going to order the blue black and red version of this.

Awesome. Can't wait....

I'm really surprised at this, mainly because Alpha and Omega have generally been very highly praised. Personally I love them both, though I think Alpha is the stronger of the two albums.
Clear is definitely a more acquired taste. There are some good riffs and song ideas on there though. In fact when you listen to the track Pale Aura after having heard Alpha/Omega, you can really tell where they were heading sound-wise. The song feels like a bridge between II and Alpha/Omega. Though maybe that's just me.
Agreed! Alpha and Omega are both awesome. At first I liked Omega more bc I thought it had more self titled periphery on it on songs like bad thing, omega, and stranger things, but over time Alpha just keeps growing and I just love them both equally. It's crazy how many times I listen to it and I still pick up things each time. The way they injected overlapping melody and motifs in their songs just amazes me.
On topic, Periphery II is also awesome. I'm glad it's getting an official pressing for Europe.
When I said above I'd skip Clear, I only meant in the sense of getting "the sound" of Periphery. That EP is all kinds of experimental and would through people for a loop. It's just it's own thing in my opinion. Agreed though, Pale Aura is a cool song. Actually, I like almost all of them.

I'd say listen in order: S/T, then II, then Juggernaut. I'd skip Clear, it's very different. My favorite is now a toss up between Juggernaut and S/T, wth II close behind. If you can handle/even love Spencer's vocals, you will love Periphery bc the music is awesome.

Hmm...looks like this is a new pressing bc it has the bonus tracks attached at the end of disc 4...pretty sure my red black swirl doesn't have those.
-
Same for me. Looks awesome. I dig everything about it!

The movie comes out in April. There hasn't been a vinyl release date set yet unless it's listed from some other site...
-
FYI. The hot topic version is back up on hot topic for anyone who missed out before...
-
Yes, mine is. I was getting a little worried. My order didn't actually go through charge wise until the 24th...weird. I did ship to store...maybe that has something to do with it?
-
Here's an interesting article with John Williams on his thoughts and insights to some of the score...
-
That is a nice red!! Thanks for the picture!

Awesome dude! Just waiting for my ship to store to show up. You should post some pics of it!

I think people's opinions will shift a little as time goes on. The score is much less immediate and much more subtle than his other scores. That being said as I spend more time with it, I love almost all of it. Is it as good as the other Williams scores? Way too early to say in my opinion. Attack of the clones isn't that amazing. I feel like everyone thinks Duel of the Fates is the whole music that is played throughout all the prequels the way everyone talks about them. Rey's theme, the resistance theme, Kylo's theme (which seems pretty obvious to me to be more developed as the saga continues), and even Snoke, after you listen a couple of times starts to become really cool.

I'm just providing the print files so you can take it and simply print it at the local print shop!
That's awesome dude. Count me in as well for one of those.

I thought the score was fantastic! Definitely got to figure out a way to get this.
Stopping by Target tomorrow morning as well for the cd!
-
It changes constantly for me as well...I'm really enjoying the most recent stuff lately though. Also would love a new one from them as well!
-
Yes! Thank you so much for the heads up! I really didn't want to miss out on this one!

Pretty happy with this Chariot release. Got mine today as well. Like every SS release, I wish they'd spent the extra buck on production and put an insert in with it. But overall, pretty happy to own this!

I think Vheissu is still their best album. I love everything about that record. Every song goes somewhere and the dynamics on that album are incredible. They lost the heaviness after that sans Fire on AI. I love Beggars and Major/Minor as well. But there is nothing that gives me the vibes and feels of Vheissu.

Just to clarify, the Titan EP is NOT a 7". It's a 12" with two songs on one side and three on the other. It's a gatefold as well. I have it.I agree/hope you're right. I'll take any of their albums on wax. (I missed out on the kickstarter Titan 7", but $30+ for a 7" was a bit much)
I saw that tour they have so maybe that means more activity in the future
