  1. Oh cool, post photos when you get it! I would love to see the I+L gatefold more closely
  2. I like the site/idea a lot, but I get this error in the overview page http://imgur.com/FBroZo2 It does this with a lot of different artists, I can't figure out how to make them all nest in a single artist...but they're all typed exactly the same, and when I go to remove the artist and put it back in it still does it.
  3. Did you get the bundle? My friend scored DP after the represses were announced for $80 on eBay. So yeah they're already way down in value. But who cares, it's cool to have the original pressing.
  4. yeah it's a great album that inspired many that came after it, but mostly I think it's a pointless argument... the Respect the Classics campaign isn't meant to be taken that damn seriously. Who cares what they call it as long as it's being reissued.
  5. Sent them a message about it asking if it's different from the US 12". I'll post their response if I get one.
  6. Are you specifically looking for Panic's splatter version? There are a ton of copies of that album at my local record store for $17 but they're black. I could pick you up a copy if you're interested.
  7. Completely unhelpful but man do I ever miss DatH. I wish I could find Drunk Like Bible Times under $80 anywhere. There are a few hanging around that upper range on eBay though if you have the cash to blow.
  8. Well if it ends up being the exact same and any of you wanna sell your double I'd be happy to buy it off you at cost
  9. I would be curious to know how many were actually pressed because they circulate like there's only 1000. I know I saw TGP at some record stores back when it was released but for how high the prices go it's like it was a limited release. Then again I know a lot of people are trying to complete an Andrew collection now that Jack's is over. I don't remember P&T being for sale anywhere but the initial pre-order and the few copies he dug up at the warehouse a couple months ago. But you're right, they could have sold a lot more, and if EIT gets pressed again I wish it would be kept in stock. The OG pressing would still retain much of it's value for being as rare as it is. That album's considered a classic so it bums me out that fans of it practically have to fight over copies.
  10. Didn't the repress come out in 2011? That's not long ago. People held onto the 1000 that were released and now they're rare again. Sorry man, I felt compelled to help a new collector/Andrew fan. He won't say until it's officially in the works, but I don't have any doubt that it will be happening. Being independent and with the success and positive feedback of the SoCo releases he would be dumb to not rake in the cash that would generate for him. But since that album is still owned by WB I think he has to jump through a few hoops to press it again so maybe that's why he can't say quite yet.
  11. You might wanna keep an eye on these, the seller put them under CDs instead of records so not as many people are gonna find the listing.... EIT: http://www.ebay.com/itm/111244965916 TGP: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jack-039-s-Mannequin-The-Glass-Passenger-VINYL-/111244967047?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276
  12. Good luck! Wish I could help you out but I only have one copy of each and he's my favorite as well. It's a shame that when Andrew put more copies up of TGP and P&T they were gone in a flash and now they're back up to ridiculous prices on eBay. If you want to buy EIT right now you can expect to pay $100+, but I'm certain Andrew will do a 10 year anniversary repressing in a couple years if you're patient....
  13. A person new to vinyl isn't going to know how good of a table that is especially when they don't have the proper equipment so I don't think it's unreasonable for OP to be asking about this as a newcomer. elasalle, that's a great table. Invest in some good speakers and a new needle and you will notice a difference in quality of sound. Don't even bother with the portable tables (or anything with USB in the name is usually junk)
  14. Snails repressing in the future, maybe? https://twitter.com/sammeans/status/417329074231455744 He has said before it probably wouldn't be but that would be awesome if it was
  15. Cool, thank you! Never have had much of a preference about whether or not something is on color vinyl but the green fits the cover art and atmosphere of the album so well. They nailed it on that.
  16. I love that green. Making this a tempting purchase since I have a hard time justifying the price tag. Anyone know if Deep Discount is just black?
  17. Haha get outta here No harm in a little hijacking, these used to be for sale frequently and now I can't track down a single one. Good luck though!
  18. I'm a broke college student myself so I know the financial struggle but that reddit thread I linked has a ton of helpful comments worth a browse on how people built their first setup that didn't cost an arm and a leg. People here are always really helpful too, but good luck! I hope you're able to find one!
  19. It's hard. If you can ask around you might find that your parents or their friends may have an old one laying around. Those tables from the 80s are made to last. At least you can tinker with those and find out if they're working/get a feel for the technology and if it ends up not working well anymore at least you didn't spend money on it. I have not had the best of luck at thrift stores or rummage sales but I've seen a lot of success stories here and elsewhere. I have a vintage Technics now that my friend found and fixed up and it works like a dream, but it took a lot of trial and error messing with other tables to get to where I am now. It's an overwhelming (and expensive) hobby at first but it's better than putting $100 towards a portable Crosley that will sound like total garbage and end up turning you away from vinyl.
  20. Check this out it has a lot of information that can help with a small-cost setup http://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/xs9yh/baller_on_a_budget_the_cheap_setup_thread/ Ignore the part about the Dayton speakers since those aren't as acclaimed as they used to be (quality of production went downhill since this was posted) I had the Lepai Tripath amp mentioned in this article and it worked great, cheap cost brand new but made really well. There's also a lot of information here http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/88504-beginner%E2%80%99s-guide-to-hi%E2%80%93fi/#entry1512901 your hardest part will probably be finding a good table, and if you're serious about the hobby you should expect to drop at least $200 on that alone, unless you start looking into vintage tables, but the link above also goes into that.
  21. Haven't seen one of these pop up in a while, missed out on the last one I saw on eBay and have had shoddy luck since. If anyone has a copy they're not all that attached to, let me know, I'd love to take it off your hands in return for some post-Christmas spending cash. This is all I need to complete my fun/Format collection!
