Took this, thanks!

Metz / Mission of Burma could be nice!
Nothing and Blue Screen Life are on the list if priced well enough.
-
It's on the turntable now though.

I'll just go ahead and leave this here:
this is the modern day "ether" by nas.

permafaust: i bought a house a few months back, and though it's a massive step from renting, those initial items you need to buy sort of add up, but you buy them once. i don't want to be that "if i can do it, so can you" kind of guy, but i made it alright only a few weeks after getting my keys. now, money-wise, it feels no more expensive than renting (even though it is) but i own that shit .
also, the hardware store (canadian tire in my case) will become your best friend.
congrats on the purchase

Hi Drew!
This is going to be a looooong wait.
-
Damn those 30 second previews! Fever Queen and ACD got me on a hype.

The deluxe edition of Tired of Tomorrow looks incredible. Couldn't pull the trigger with shipping costs and how feeble our Canadian dollar is right now. When I started buying records our dollar was on par, now I pay 35% (ish) more plus crazy high shipping. Really a bummer when an album this nice comes out.
Also, somebody commented about how the new tracks drums reminded them on Dinosaur Jr... I was thinking the same thing. The entire song itself puts out that vibe for me. Couldn't be more impressed, initially, with what we were given (the song, teaser song, variants) at this time.

35$ USD shipped to Canada for the non-Deluxe. Probably going to have to wait it out until Amazon or anywhere else that has cheaper shipping - I don't anticipate the Canadian dollar getting any better before this release.

Vertigo Flowers is up on Spotify.
Hell yeah, that's a great track! Thanks for posting. I was going to wait around til 10EST for that.
EDIT: It's also on youtube.

Is this an older or newer vid? Either way I love it. Has that 90s feel from their split I was hoping for more of.
That's from the most recent New Years eve show. I can't wait to hear it.

They just posted on twitter: "Tuesday Afternoon" by Moody Blues. I'll take that as a hint.
Still. If Nothing was my friend, we'd have trust issues.
Also, Days of Future Passed is a great album.

I went out drinking, came back hoping for a P/O or new track

Destroyer - Poison Season
Haven't heard much noise around it. Got it upon release and enjoy, just not as much as Kaputt at this point.

I feel like even here in NS I don't hear much about Moncton bands, more about Sackville.
There are/were some very good ones. Some of the ones I listed will play on and off - no real consistency. People seem to jump bands and start new ones often, plus there aren't many great venues. It feels old and overdone, if that makes sense.
And I agree with the Sackville comment. I went to MtA for 4 years and felt the music scene tenfold more than Moncton, with a population like 70 times smaller.
I have a number of friends that made the move to Halifax over the summer. Trying to keep up with some new stuff there.

^ Awesome that you know of it! Nice people, toured Europe and around NA a bit last year. Was lucky enough hear these guys a lot and to have a jam space a few doors down the last few years.
-
RFC stuff is usually reasonably priced on Amazon.ca
You are right! I got Dark World and Feat of Love off of amazon for a very reasonable price. Usually a mystery variant, but worth saving half the price tag at least.

Nice thread!
Not a lot that you all would have heard of out of my hometown minus Eric's Trip - so here's Moncton, N.B.
Eric's Trip - Love Tara
Eric's Trip - Forever Again
John Jerome & The Congregation - Ask Not What I can Do For You, But What We Can Do Together
Danger Cat - The Danger Cat EP
Danger Cat - Out of the Woodwork
Hope - Lupus Man
Savage Young - Savage Young
Zaum - Oracles
Elevator - Elevator to Hell
a handful of Julie Doiron & Feral Trash releases.
-
This was incredible until it showed 44$ shipped to Canada... Probably going to gamble on retail down the road.
New song and album art are awesome!
-
According to the article posted, that is the expected release date.
Thanks, I'm an idiot and missed that.
-
They also posted on their facebook "FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH OF MAY" so there is most likely our release date. Gotta get a song or two out there.
-
That was nice, meant to post that I cam back here to listen to this a few times.
Currently listening to You'd Prefer an Astronaut by Hum. Will have to get that record soon.
What are you currently listening to?
