  1. Saddest news here, IMO, is that Steve was the main lyricist. If the wording/grammar of that note to the fans is any indication of how the new lyrics are going to go, we're in for a bumpy ride.
  2. i hear ya. I finally snagged one off of ebay, but it wasn't easy. the 5-pack was probably cheaper than buying them individually, it turns out. oh well. the fun is in the chase.
  3. I'm also looking for this pill bottle 7"..soooooooooo
  4. thanks for the link. I'll try to see what the seller wants, but I imagine he/she would get more selling it as a full set. we'll see though, I guess! if anyone has just the pill bottle, though, feel free to message me!
  5. Almost finished with my collection of the DS 7"s, only need the pill bottle one now. Feel free to message me with your price!
  6. oh, of course. I was reading too quickly and assumed you meant this past saturday. i'll take a look this weekend.
  7. I'll head to Sonic Boom today and see what I can find. I'll report back.
  8. Hi all: Already have the rockets and the devil ones, looking to round out my collection. Send me a PM with an offer, bearing in mind that I'm in Toronto (so if you're from the US, shipping might cost a few extra bucks). Thanks!
  9. just out of curiosity: there's no way I could afford it, but what would be a suitable offer for the "say it like you mean it" test press?
  10. bump; just purchased the devil one, anyone got any others they're looking to part with?
  11. I've got one of the screenprinted 7"s already: the blue rockets one with Dismantling Summer. Anyone have any of the others? PM me with a price and we'll go from there!
  12. Any press is fine, but I'll obviously pay more for 1st press. Send me a PM and let's make a deal!
  13. hmm..wondering what this will go for, I have a 1st press of this too.
  14. it's not clear on the site...is that the first press of SKOC?
  15. Hi all, I'm especially looking for the "Some Kind of Cadwallader" LP, but I'm also hoping to snag the 7" and Parrot Flies. PM me your price, and let's make a deal!
  16. If you mean $60 + shipping, I'd do that (bear in mind that I'm in Toronto)
  17. I wouldn't even know where to start for an offer on the Burn Piano Island test press...that's impressive
  18. I've got this one as well, the 2nd pressing on clear green/solid purple. I'm not sure what I'd sell it for, but if a 2nd press also goes for somewhere around $50-75, I'd be interested in getting rid of it.
  19. You're right that the $10 for Daylight was lower than what yours would have gone for on eBay...of course it was! Why would I offer you *more* than what it goes for on eBay? I even showed you a listing where someone tried to get $25 for the same record you have and no one even bid on it. Obviously, the market is somewhere between $10 and $25, and my offer is, naturally, going to be on the lower side so I can try to score a deal. You're free to respond with "I can't take $10, I'll take $15, $20, whatever" and then we negotiate as such. The reason that anyone can show you a listing for a "cheap amount" is because there is a way for someone to get it for that amount, obviously, so one would be silly to offer you more for it than he could get it for himself! The fact that you don't seem to get that boggles my mind! Suppose you wanted the new, I don't know, Wiggles album, and you saw it on eBay going for anywhere between $15 and $40. And then you see someone on a forum is saying "Idk make me an offer!". You would be daft to say "golly gee, I think I'll offer him $40!" Of course, any rational person would say, "Hmm, well I should probably start around $15, seeing as I could easily get it for that elsewhere." Surrrrrely you understand this, or else I would recommend you spend your vacation reading up on the principles of economics. Also, you are conveniently leaving out the fact that you took offense to my offer for the Wonder Years record you're selling, which I offered $20 for, and which is selling for $25 consistently on eBay (and, as I showed you, even one package went for like $30 with an additional 7", a poster, and a shirt!!!) To clarify, a simply re-reading of the PM I sent you would show that I didn't claim that the other record was rarer than the one you were offering. Rather, I said that there are some on there (namely, the 1st press black) that are rarer that are selling in the ballpark of my original offer. I then proceeded to cite other examples--not of rarer records, but of others in the ballpark of the price I was looking for that were close to being as rare as the one you offered. (It should be noted that the fundamental difference between a /700 record and a /1000 is easy to determine, especially when the record is not OOP yet.) I also don't really appreciate the "noobie" reference. You make it seem as if being new to this site necessarily entails me being clueless about how to make deals. If "the point is" that you were going on vacation and needed the money, that does nothing to nullify my claim that you could have made a counteroffer instead of pretending that my offer was too insultingly low to consider, especially given that, by purely objective standards, referring to eBay's prices, etc., it simply wasn't an insultingly low offer. Of course, you aren't obligated to sell to me or anyone, and that's fine. The issue I have isn't that you didn't sell to me, it's that you chose not to put a price on things, asked not to be lowballed, were objectively not lowballed, and claimed that the offer was essentially ridiculous. I thought it was worth noting this, since another commenter foresaw the very problem I experienced. Like I said, I don't discourage others from dealing with you. I don't think you're dishonest or untrustworthy or anything else. I just think you are operating your sale in a way that unnecessarily frustrates the efforts of genuinely interest buyers. Others ought to be aware and adjust their expectations of you accordingly.
  20. It should be noted that while I'm not a fan of the name-calling, I do think that this is a pretty lousy tactic on the part of the seller. I offered him prices no lower than $5-10 less than what recent sales for the same exact record have gone for on eBay, and the seller initially ignored my offer, and then proceeded to tell me I was lowballing him--i.e., that he wouldn't provide a counteroffer because he was presumably offended at my having tried to strike a deal. I know I'm new to this particular board, but I'm not new to eBay, to selling stuff online, etc. I think this is a pretty disingenuous way of participating in a forum-based sale--especially considering the relative vulnerability of the buyers (i.e. they could get screwed and have little recourse, unlike on eBay for example). I'm not discouraging anyone from buying from this seller. He seems insistent that his feedback speaks for itself, and I'm sure he's an honest guy that's just trying to get as much as he can from his records. But the fact that he chooses to forego listing a price and then complains when someone offers what is otherwise a reasonable initial offer strikes me as an unfortunate way of handling oneself in something that is, at least nominally, a "collective".
  21. I'm new here, so I figured I'd throw out a WTB in case anyone was aching to get rid of some of these: Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate)- What it takes to move forward 12" Misery Signals- Of Malice and the Magnum Heart 12" Fear Before the March of Flames- Art Damage & The Always Open Mouth Cursed- Two Isis-Live V and VI BTBAM- Colors Gregor Samsa (any) Hopesfall- The Satellite Years (yes, it's the same as my signature...) PM me, I'm willing to negotiate on any of these!
