  1. I can't seem to get my order to go through on interpunk...hopefully things will be up and running again and they aren't sold out. Regardless, stoked to see them at SXSW and Punk Rock Bowling this year. I've seen them a handful of times and it's a decent show, although Keith likes to talk a lot. Now with 3 records full of material, they can play a full set.

  2. So as stated, im new to this. i've got an Ego with an Aspire BCM. Any thought or ideas to vamp this up, or at least an upgrade? This is probably a very vague and broad question but would like some insight! There's an AltSmoke here in town, and would like to go in knowing what im talking about when I go in tomorrow.

It really depends on how involved you want to get in the hobby. For me, I like bigger battery devices because the battery life is killer. eGo batteries work great too.I like protanks for convenience, and rebuildable atomizers for flavor.  Altsmoke makes some big batt mods, like the silver bullet, but you can get great china mods for a fraction of the price. Overall, it's really an individual thing, and what works for me might not work for you. Ask to try out a bunch of shit and see what works. When I give someone a setup who is trying to get off cigarettes, it's usually something like a nemesis and a protank. You can get out the door with a nemisis, a protank, a couple batteries and a charger for under 60 bucks.

If you have any specific questions I'm happy to help, I've been at this over 3 years and I've tried just about everything.

  3. Glad to see there are other folks here who use these things. I've been using a vaporizer for a little over 3 years, which is when I quit smoking. I prefer simple over some of the crazy shit people are getting into. That being said, here are my current favorite setups, from left to right: GLV-2 5 volt with a 510 2.0 ohm atty, The Empire with a 1.8 ohm 901 atty, The Tesla with a Kanger dual coil protank, GG Clone with a igo-l built with a micro-coil and cotton, and a nemesis with a protank version 1. As for juice, I really only use 2 vendors, I like to use ivape.net juice in my tanks, and stuff from the plume room in my rebuildables. I'm enjoying going through this thread to see what everyone else is using.

  4. It depends on what you're using them for. I usually travel with only 45s, and I happen to like the Odyssey line of 45 Road cases.

If you're just looking for something to transfer records, I love my soul jazz bag.

If I'm flying somewhere, I'll almost always toss that bag in my carry-on in the event I purchase records, it's easy to bring them home.

  5. Hey Austinites,

I have a ticket to the murder city devils show tonight at the mohawk, but I just found out I have to work early, and as much as I love MCD, I'm not really feelin' standing outside in 30 degree weather. It doesn't help that all of my friends are old and cold.

If you'd like to see MCD tonight fo' free, let me know and I'd be happy to email you the ticket. Curfew over at Mohawk is 10:30 outside, so they'll probably go on around 9.

Shoot me a message and we'll get you set up.

  6. Tip; if you like soul music, go see the pepper pots!

You don't want to miss them. They'll likely be the main reason I'm traveling to sxsw this year

Super stoked to see The Pepper Pots again this year! The first time I caught them live was at SXSW was 5 years ago, I believe. They put on a great set, and there was hardly anyone there. If you haven't checked out the new record, go get it!

I go every year, and there is tons to do. Here are a few tips:

-First off, parking meters aren't free on the weekends anymore, and most streets in the 6th street area are all jacked up. Getting a bike or walking is your best bet. Buses and trains are a good choice as well.

-RSVP for The Pure Volume House. Usually they have shitty day shows, but extremely liberal free booze. We usually all meet there to have some drinks before we go to venues to see the day shows.

-Set up a spare email address to handle all your sxsw rsvp business. You'll get shit tons of emails otherwise.

-www.showlistaustin.com This dude only lists free shows, and it's a great resource for punk/indie shows.

-Brooklyn Vegan always throws a killer day party.

-If you don't have a badge, pick one night showcase and stick with it. I have never had a problem getting into one without a badge. I'll usually get on the guestlist, or shell out 10 bucks to get in. I think the most I ever paid for a night showcase was Charles Bradley at Stubbs, and that was 20 bucks. I always go to the Fat Wreck showcase and never have any issues. Don't bother trying to get into the megashows, it'll be nearly impossible.

-Overall, there is plenty of free booze and food to go around. Make sure to pack lots of singles to tip your bartenders.

Let me know if you have any questions. I only live a couple miles from 6th, and I usually walk down there, or grab a bus. It's my favorite staycation of the year!
