  2. The MC in Common Market is a janitor by day. He has talked about how being a Janitor helps him understand the issues everyday people are dealing with. Quite a different situation than Kanye West or Lil Wayne. Pretty cool stuff.
  3. I'm not sure if anyone on here is into hip-hop, but I just wanted to start a thread to find out. New Common Market album is up on Myspace http://www.myspace.com/commonmarket Good album. Maybe Hip-Hop album of the year. Favorite tracks are Tobacco Road, Back Home, Certitude, 40 Thieves, Crucible, Winter Takes All, Gol Dust
  4. Has anyone heard this band, The Gersch? I have their album, it's decent. The opening track is pretty good.
  5. I love SNL, but I'm pretty sure I'll be way too drunk to watch. First college football game this weekend.
  6. Which show would you see? Hot Water Music and Bouncing Souls at a 1200 person venue with security and a gate up front OR Fucked Up and Sex Vid in a 200-300 person room with no security and no gate. OR Matt and Kim (not happening, I like em, but I saw em open for Against Me and the other shows seem like the better choice). This is the decision I have to make this Saturday. I'm leaning towards the Fucked Up show because I have seen The Souls 5 times, twice with no security, and I have never really listened to Hot Water Music. I don't listen to Fucked Up and Sex Vid much either, but I hear their live shows are crazy. What would you do?
  7. Student and punk/metal director at the radio station. There is so much terrible metal in this world.
  8. I think Television is at its peak right now. So much good shit. With so many channels a show has to be good to have a shot at decent ratings. Weeds is good.
  9. This record is so good. Album of the year so far. I don't see anything topping it unless D4 actually releases their album. If only they would make a trip to the Northwest. Supposedly they came 3 years ago, but I had not heard of the band at that point.
  10. I used to be a big button collector, but I lost like most my collection when I moved. I still like buying a quality button for a buck. It helps the band out if you don't want to spend $10-$15 on a record.
  11. So I have 3 t-shirts I was looking to sell/trade if anyone would be interested. They are too small for me. I was looking for maybe $9 a piece. All 3 shirts are in good condition. 1. Street Dogs. Green shirt. Size Medium. The color is lighter than the picture makes it out to be and the front emblem and back "03" have a more faded look than the picture portrays. http://www.rockabilia.com/product.php?productid=57439&page=1 2. The Briefs. Black shirt. Size Small (34-36). This shirt has a picture of Steve E. Nix playing a Les Paul guitar and singing into a microphone. The picture of Nix is in black and white. The picture also features Nix wearing his sunglasses over his mouth, as if they had fallen off of his eyes, so you can see both his eyes and his sunglasses in the picture. The sunglasses are white. It says "The Briefs" in Pink lettering in the classic Briefs style. I really wish I could find a picture of this shirt. 3. I also have an Observers t-shirt. It is black, size small. It is pretty sweet and I have only worn it like twice because it is just too small. It is at my house in Maupin, so I don't remember all of the exact details of the shirt. I will be going to Maupin in a few weeks so more details then. I think the shirt features skeletons of some sort, but I may be way off with this memory.
  12. Kirbs84 I am so down for that Fantasy league. It would be sweet if everyone sent a random LP or a 7'' to the person who won the league. Nothing worth any real value, just a random record for the winner.
  13. They are sort of like D4. I'm pretty sure these records in 2009 were supposed to come out in 2007. Who knows if they will actually be released. It just seems like Mike Ness likes to tour and not make records. I saw Social D 4 times since Sex, Love... came out and I saw Mike Ness and his band once.
  14. That's more than I thought. Sweet. It isn't really in the greatest condition though. The cover is kind of bent. I got it from my dad. He said the record may have been from when they toured with The Ramones. Man that would be a sweet show. Social D in 1992 and The Ramones!
  15. Does anyone know how much Social Distortion vinyl usually goes for? I have a 1992 tour 7''. It has the dates of the tour on the back and just has the skele and two dice and says Social Distortion on the front. The songs are Cold Feelings and Bad Luck(Live Acoustic). I kind of doubt this is a rare record, but I was just wondering if there were any Social D collectors on the board.
  16. I have this and I would be willing to sell or trade it. Sweet.
