  1. San Diego-based foursome Champ are preparing the release of their self-titled album due out February 18th on cassette and digital formats via Fleeting Youth Records. In the same vein as Cali counterparts Wavves and FIDLAR, San Diego-based foursome Champ play a punchy form of garage rock that's rooted in punk and 90s alternative rather than psych, power pop, and blues. On their debut self-titled album, the quartet build a distinct sound fusing moody punk with experimental effects, noisy guitars, and ear worm melodies. This stellar unveiling also proves Champ to be one of the most exciting bands on the rise unafraid to represent dejected youth and the darker side of sunny California. 1st single "Burnt Alive": https://soundcloud.com/fleetingyouthrecords/champ-burnt-alive Pre-order: https://fleetingyouthrecords.bandcamp.com/album/champ-champ or http://fleetingyouth.storenvy.com/products/5150597-champ-self-titled
  2. Appreciate that, Allen! It should be coming to you soon (I sent it out a week ago or so).
  3. NEW ALBUM ANNOUNCEMENT/PRE-ORDER Pre-order the cassette: https://fleetingyouthrecords.bandcamp.com/album/habits-unselves-in-arrival First single: https://soundcloud.com/habitshabits/splendor-of-the-panic/s-sOZRj Habits is the synthesizer/sample based musical vision of Los Angeles based songsmith and cat owner, Dustin Krapes. Driving rhythms and a psychedelic collage of otherworldly synths provide the sonic backdrop to Dustin's lofty metaphysical themed lyrics, typically delivered in a nonchalant speak-sing style of crooning. Habits' revolving cast of collaborators currently includes professional wrestling hall of famer Dithy Ramb on drums and vegan taxidermy expert Gabriel Armenta on bass. In a live setting, Krapes does more than merely play to the crowd, preferring to engage the audience while playing the role of a slacker shaman armed with a disintegrating laptop, effects pedals, and a unique brand of cosmic indifference. Catch them at a warehouse party or a new age book store near you. For fans of: Beck, Silver Apples, LCD Soundsytem
  4. Also, pre-order comes with two extra bonus tracks-- a cover of My Bloody Valentine's "Don't Ask Why" and LIVE track-- AND FOUR FREE Pet Ghost Project (Stivers and Gonzales' band before it morphed into Passenger Peru) albums!
  5. New song from the album called "Dirt Nap": https://soundcloud.com/fleetingyouthrecords/passenger-peru-dirt-nap
  6. Passenger Peru- More Than This: https://soundcloud.com/fleetingyouthrecords/passenger-peru-more-than-this "More Than This" is British art rock band Roxy Music's 1982 hit single that Justin Gonzales has always been fond of. In this new cover from Passenger Peru, Gonzales wanted to "bring out the ambient qualities of the song and blow it out of proportion" and masterminded a warm, slow crawl through swirls of galactic noise, layered shoegaze vocals, and clusters of experimental sounds that float in a different universe than the original.
  7. Brooklyn duo Passenger Peru are preparing the release of their self-titled album due out January 28th on cassette and digital formats via Fleeting Youth Records. Listen/Download "Heavy Drugs": https://soundcloud.com/fleetingyouthrecords/passenger-peru-heavy-drugs Passenger Peru is the brain child of Justin Stivers (bassist on The Antlers album “Hospice”, Pet Ghost Project) who combines his talents with virtuoso multi-instrumentalist Justin Gonzales to bring you a raw mix of cosmic shape-shifting tunes teetering on the brink of danceability. Their debut self-titled album was written and recorded over the course of a year in Brooklyn basements and tranquil locations in the foothills of the Alaskan wilderness. The album finds the Brooklyn duo blending the tender and vulnerable song writing of Yo La Tengo with the aural colorings and production of Brian Wilson and the tribal noise freak-outs of early Animal Collective. PP's self-titled album will be available on cassette and digital formats on January 28th. Pre-orders come with a button, sticker, and a some other fun stuff related to the album art work!! 8. Slippertails are preparing the release of their debut album, There's A Disturbing Trend, due out January 14th on cassette via Fleeting Youth Records. Front man Nick Casertano not only shares similar physical characteristics with Frank Black of the Pixies, but a similar audio aesthetic: "distinctly dark with face-melting feedback...a powerfully raw and meaty sound," best heard on tracks like "Walk" and "Hip New Jerk." The powerful, sludgy guitar tones are one of the album's best assets, but Casertano's apathetic drawl-- whether it's in-your-face or heavily sedated-- is borderline hypnotizing, luring you back for more every time the album fades. There's A Disturbing Trend will be available digitally and on cassette on January 14th. Check out the first two singles below and get your pre-order on here: http://fleetingyouthrecords.bandcamp.com/album/slippertails-theres-a-disturbing-trend Stream/Free DL "Hip New Jerk": https://soundcloud.com/fleetingyouthrecords/slippertails-hip-new-jerk Stream/Free DL "I Will Peel You Open": https://soundcloud.com/fleetingyouthrecords/slippertails-i-will-peel-you
  9. Hahaha. So scared, but it's inevitable. Vinyl releases will be coming soon on the label. We're just not quite ready for it yet for various reasons (one main reason is that I'm waiting to see what happens with my job contract that ends in March). I need to search this site for some recommendations on good pressing places (looking for 7" or 10" first). Glad you all dug the release, though! Thanks for listening. Pink Mexico is out now. 10. Second single "Shrub Fuse": https://soundcloud.com/fleetingyouthrecords/pink-mexico-shrub-fuse
  11. Pink Mexico is preparing the release of their debut album, Pnik Mxeico, due out December 17th on cassette via Fleeting Youth Records. Pink Mexico is the moniker of singer/multi-instrumentalist Robert Preston Collum (now a trio with Johnny Chambers on guitar/bass and Tony Tornay on drums) who decided to break free from his various music collaborations to individually capture the sound he's wanted to achieve since the beginning. Pnik Mxeico sports a warm, confident, melodic, and fuzz-laden vibe reminiscent of The Dandy Warhols meeting Ty Segall, and Nirvana's quieter moments. The highly infectious album is meant to be heard from start to finish rather than taking it in parts. It's quick, well sequenced, and better heard that way; however, the stand alone singles are just as rewarding. Paperclip Toothpick, Seabird, and A Head Full of Slime are all bristled in walls of fuzz-fucked guitars and reverberated melodies, but each song has a different component that shows Collum's equal love for grunge, garage rock, pop, and psychedelic music. 14. The Chelsea Kills are a Philadelphia-based rock trio known to lay out what it's like to be young today through a infectious garage rock/pop filter. On their forthcoming album, Pulp Culture, TCK exhales a load of fast-paced, angst-ridden songs about girls, drugs, death, and indecision. Stream/Download "Germany" (Soundcloud): https://soundcloud.com/fleetingyouthrecords/the-chelsea-kills-germany Stream/Download "I Fall Out" (Bandcamp): http://fleetingyouthrecords.bandcamp.com/track/i-fall-out The first single, "Germany," is where lead singer Sam Mercurio tells his hometown and everyone in it to fuck off as he flies away to greener pastures over rumbling drums and jangly riffs. The fuzz-fueled second single, "I Fall Out," is a song about a youthful drug mishap told through the band's nervous rhythms and Mercurio's detached vocals that buildup energy together and eventually explode into a finale of charred guitars and accelerated instrumentation. Pulp Culture will be available on cassette and digital formats via Fleeting Youth Records on November 26th. Pre-orders can be made here.

  17. Mumblr Debut New Single "Puke" + Ready Album for November Philadelphia-based rock foursome Mumblr are becoming known for their ferocious hooks, which is a staple of their highly energetic sound they call "fuzz punk." On "Puke", the lead single from their forthcoming album White Jesus/Black God, the above statement rings true as frontman Nick Morrison coos pensive one liners about someone that brings him down followed by bursts of furiously emotive chants pleading "I don't know anything why do you lie to me?!" over agitated guitars and drums. Soundcloud (stream/free DL): https://soundcloud.com/fleetingyouthrecords/mumblr-puke Bandcamp (stream/free DL): http://fleetingyouthrecords.bandcamp.com/track/puke It's angry yet catchy; a great example of "fuzz punk" and what Mumblr is all about. White Jesus/Black God will be available on cassette and digital formats via Fleeting Youth Records on November 12th. Pre-orders can be made here. More info on the release here
