  1. I recently got 2 old electronic instruments! An Oberheim DX drum machine and an Omnichord-84! Anyone have any experience with any of these? Also I'm having trouble with latency issues on the Oberheim, anyone know where I can take it to get it looked at in California?
  2. That's a bummer, I have nothing but love for Lauren Records! I've ordered from them a couple of times and they always send it in a timely fashion. They had a surprise box deal that I suggested and for 15 bucks I got the leer LP and 3 really cool 7"'s, as well as a pin and stickers. They also put on a really awesome fest last year. Sorry to hear that! Contacting them on their Facebook page is always easy as well as they always seem to be online.
  3. I recently ordered Algernon from Hot Green, and I got no word of confirmation nor the package for about a month, even after emailing. I ended up filing a claim, and had to get PayPal to refund me, but then I got the records a day after and an email. That was a total bummer, and I wouldn't have filed a claim if I got some word.
  4. Again, it's just my opinion. I like the band, I have nothing against the fans. I just have a lot of friends invested in the DIY punk community and the presence of emo is kind of overwhelming is all. Think of it as burger records' bands, but all emo. I just don't like how much of a fad it is that's all. I think Snowing is original and I like them, I'm not calling them ripoffs at all.
  5. The emo revival definitely has a presence in California, but it's tedious with all of the Cap'n Jazz copycats. I love emo and all but it gets to be a bit much all the time. That's just me though.
  6. Hahahahah, just saw your tradelist mate. Sorry if I offended your musical sensibilities. To each his own.
  7. Alright I completely buggered out really hard right there, my bad everyone. But still my statement about them being so popular stands.
  8. Just being hyperbolic. Also, why did I get downvoted lmfao. Sorry Snowing fanboys if I offended you.
  9. There's no denying they're a good band, but what's with the instant sell outs and 8 presses this year? I mean they're not THAT good. Edit: I pulled a South African deaf signer right there. I realize it was pressed in 2010. But still wondering why they are so popular with collectors.
  10. I wouldn't say it's crazy sought after, so much as hard to find. I really love this band and I just like collecting things. They are getting more popular if that's any indication on demand for their records. I would really be interested in getting that black copy from you if you're willing to sell!
  11. Yeah I hear it takes constant attention because they cut in real time, but if you check out lathetrolls.net they have a huge database and forum about lathe cuts, but it kind of overwhelms me with all the info.
  12. Hey me and a couple of buddies were interested in cutting out own lofi records, and I know everyone says the sound is pure shit but I've heard some recordings and apparently you can get good enough for it to sound pretty cool! I heard you can cut into lots of things like CDs, plastic plates, etc. I also heard you can cut into 12" laserdiscs! So I bought a few neat Japanese anime ones on Ebay. (What's with our fascination with obsolete formats?) I just wanted to get people's inputs on making your own recordings at home, and cutting records for your friend's local bands etc.
  13. Wow thanks! I appreciate it! PS Update: I would be interested in Goblin Problems also!
  14. Nice collection! BTW did you guys hear they played a secret show with Elvis Depressedly on the 27th!
